THEY. Delivers Lead Single "Say When" From Debut Album HYENA

They Say When

Everything Mind of a Genius touches has pushed the boundaries. The forward thinking label has been behind the releases from ZHU, Gallant, THEY., and most recently Klangstof. We last heard from the electrifying duo THEY. on their “Working For It” collaboration with ZHU and Skrillex, while their other releases are limited to the 3-track debut Nu Religion EP.

Now we have the pleasure of hearing their first single since the EP, and serves as the first listen off their forthcoming debut album HYENA. This lead single “Say When” is a progressive blend of rock and hip-hop as the beat combines heavy guitar strumming with hard hitting bass and melodic segments sounding unlike any current trends. We hear a strong Rage Against The Machine influence on this track as the exciting duo show off their versatility exploring new territory beyond their electronic R&B roots. They’ve infused a variety of different sonic elements while switching up their flow between swaggy and frantic rhyming patterns with perfectly raspy R&B vocals on the hook.

We hear THEY. have recently spent a lot of time in the studio with legendary producer Timbaland, so stay tuned for more from HYENA and enjoy the first taste from the debut album below!
