Following his signing to Jay Z’s Roc Nation, Chicago native Vic Mensa has been prepping for the release of his long-awaited debut studio album Traffic. Recently he surprised everyone by deciding to drop a politically charged mixtape titled There’s A Lot Going On ahead of his debut album in addition to a new collaboration with Flume & news of joining the Gorillaz in the studio. Now he’s dropped visuals to accompany the mixtape’s title track “There’s A Lot Going On.”
The minimalist video places Vic at the forefront of the shot in front of a white screen while images of artists and friends with targets on their chest’s are flown around him. Vic made a statement with his new mixtape expressing his anger with the current state of police brutality and racism in America, as well as insight into his career and personal struggles thus far. This video further expresses how he currently feels in a powerful way and captures the energy of the new tape very well. Watch below and enjoy!
