Whethan & Dua Lipa’s Anticipated New Collab “High” Is Here

|

Having ended last year by dropping some incredible collabs with Oliver Tree and Opia while on his “Good Nights" Tour, Whethan was already set to have a great 2018. And the Chicago-based producer definitely capitalized on his streak by releasing a banger of a remix of BROCKHAMPTON's "STAINS" only to turn around and drop an epic surprise mixtape with Louis The Child, all within a month. But it seems he isn't done yet, as today, Whethan has just shared his and Dua Lipa's brand new collab, “High”.

This latest offering is more than just a release, as Whethan & Dua’s new collab comes to us as part of the soundtrack for the highly anticipated new Fifty Shades sequel which opens tomorrow (Feb. 9). Characterized by dark, melancholic piano, snappy, acoustic percussion and abrasive pulsing bass, Dua Lipa’s powerful voice sits prominently atop the minimalistic percussion throughout the entirety of the track. This shows a darker side to Whethan's production and sounds so good.

While the full soundtrack for Fifty Shades Freed will include tracks from Miike Snow, Jessie J, Ellie Goulding and many other big names, we’d definitely see the movie just to hear this song in action. Check out Whethan x Dua Lipa’s new single “High” below and enjoy!
