ZHU’s debut studio album Generationwhy was a change of pace from his previous dark, experimental sound that we’ve heard him return to since its release. One of these songs that took a different direction from his signature sound was the catchy single “Hometown Girl” that we’re excited to be premiering a remix of from newcomer duo Slenderbodies.
Slenderbodies have created a signature sound of smooth, indie electronic production capitalizing on their whispering falsetto that actually shares some similarities to ZHU’s style of vocals. The duo proved to be a perfect fit for this remix, who put their own spin on the poppy original track. They add slick guitar licks, new percussion and vocal chops making the track their own while utilizing the original’s vocals.
