ZHU Returns To His Dark And Moody Sound On Brilliant New Project “Ringos Desert, Pt. 1”

||

Over the past few years of ZHU’s extraordinary career, the awe-inspiring producer has shown that he can do it all. He first caught our ear with his dark Nightday EP, proved his creative versatility on Genesis, switched lanes for Generationwhy, turned up on stardustexhalemarrakechdreams and has now come full circle on his highly anticipated new project, Ringos Desert, Pt. 1.

After sleuthing around the internet last week, we were able to deduce that there was a project from ZHU on the way. Today, that foreseen project has officially dropped. ZHU had released a handful of singles over the past two years that hinted at a return to his original moody form, and after just our first listen through Ringos Desert, we can confirm that he indeed has returned.

From the very start of the project, ZHU entrances us with a deep and dark melody in minor key that instantly brought us back to ZHU’s original sound. Ringos Desert certainly isn’t just an homage to his past work, though. All of ZHU’s strengths as a producer are exhibited on this project. Just take a listen to the heavyhearted R&B track “Still Want U” featuring Karnaval Blues, or the dizzying “Burn Babylon” featuring Keznamdi.

We’ve been a fan of ZHU’s since the start, and this new project sounds like a combination of our two favorite projectss from him, The Nightday and Genesis, and we couldn’t be more stoked.

In case you missed it, this week ZHU also announced his “Dune” tour, which is set to hit 20 major North American cities, in addition to a final stop at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. See dates below. The tour doesn’t begin until later this fall, but Ringos Desert, Pt. 1 is more than enough to hold us over until then. Enjoy!
