Ghastly & Barely Alive Team Up On Heavy Trap Heater “Fake U Out”

barely alive ghastly

Both Ghastly and Barely Alive are known for their extreme high energy when it comes to production and their live sets. Today, the two champions of in your face bass music come together to release their first collaboration to date, “Fake U Out.”

“Fake U Out” stays true to its title. During the moments leading up to the first drop, we were certain the two were going to throw us into a maniacal bass house beat. But within just two measures of that drop, the track pivots into skull rattling trap banger.

From then on it almost sounds like Ghastly and Barely Alive are switching back and forth between two different tracks, like a DJ throwing the crossfader back and forth. That specific style is a very unique way of sharing a collaboration, and it’s executed perfectly by these two.

Crowds always loved to be “faked out” during live sets, and we can bet that we’re going to be hearing this one get dropped heavily on the festival circuit this year. Prepare yourselves and enjoy!

[PREMIERE] SNAILS & Pegboard Nerds - Deep In The Night (Barely Alive Remix) : Heavy Dubstep

SNAILS - Deep In The Night (Barely Alive Remix) [Cover Art]

Barely Alive keeps the music coming with an official remix of SNAILS and Pegboard Nerds' heavy collaboration "Deep In The Night". This release follows the Barely Alive's heavy dubstep single "CA$H" on OWSLA and they keep the bass filth rolling with their latest release via Monstercat.

Barely Alive transforms the vomitstep weapon into a dubstep banger that's surrounded by cinematic drums, high-pitched bells and metallic bass synths that blend in perfectly with the original track's gargling lead synth. "Deep In The Night" has also received the remix treatment from talented acts Dion Timmer and Muzzy so be sure to check their takes on the song as well. Listen to the premiere of Barely Alive's heavy remix of "Deep In The Night" by SNAILS and Pegboard Nerds below. Enjoy!

[PREMIERE] Barely Alive Drops Heavy Dubstep Single "CA$H" On OWSLA EP 'Domain'

Barely Alive Press Shot Artwork

When it comes to dubstep, Barely Alive is definitely a rising duo putting their mark on the scene. Most recently, we've premiered their heavy collaborative remix of LDRU's "Next To You" with Virtual Riot, along with their dubstep / future bass hybird rework of Herobust's filthy single "Dirty Work". We're glad to now premiere Barely Alive's new original, "CA$H", off their upcoming Domain EP (tracklist below).

"Domain was a really fun project for us. Doing our full album was a great chance to experiment, but all our EPs have been more of a tour de force in which we just try to make as much crazy sounds as we can in 4 tracks or less. CA$H has been one of our most sought-after tracks of the year and we're super happy to be releasing it along with our other newest work that we're really excited to share!"

If the song sounds familiar to you, it's probably because Skrillex has been playing it out for nearly a year now. "CA$H", along with the full Domain EP, comes out tomorrow (Feb. 10) on OWSLA and packs a dirty punch with dubstep stabs, sharp drum kicks and wailing screeches. The amount of energy in this track is just insane. Listen to the premiere of "CA$H" below and enjoy!
