Illenium Releases Part 3 of Entrancing Mix Series “Ashes to Ashes” ft. Kasbo, Whethan, Boombox Cartel, and More

It has been over a year since Illenium’s last entry in his “Ashes to Ashes” mix series, but he has finally released his anticipated “Ashes to Ashes Mix 03.” As with other entries in the series, this mix maintains the euphoric feeling Illenium masterfully crafts in his works. Illenium is coming off his huge collaboration with Kerli, “Sound of Walking Away,” which we premiered earlier this summer. This mix captures the essence of similar chill future bass tracks.

“Ashes to Ashes Mix 03” features music from TSIS favorites Kasbo, Whethan, Boombox Cartel, and more. Of course, Illenium’s own productions shine, and he has made sure to include two of his unreleased tracks in the mix: “Crawl Outta Love” ft. Annika Wells and his remix of Angels & Airwaves’ “The Adventure.” The snippets we get of these tracks have us excited for upcoming Illenium releases and curious about what else he has in store. Check out the full mix and tracklist below to hold you over and enjoy!

Shlohmo Drops Must-Hear New 'For Tha Summer Vol. XXVII' Mix With Incredible Hip-Hop remixes

Shlohmo Future Migos

Shlohmo has just released a new mixtape featuring 7 unreleased hip-hop remixes, entitled For Tha Summer (vol. XXVII). The tape puts his signature spin on massively popular tracks, which he calls "big heat wave lounge style music."

The founder of WEDIDIT Collective is no stranger to flipping hip-hop bangers into slowed-down, melancholy tracks with a completely different vibe. For his new tape, he expands upon this style by creating a 25-minute mix blending immediately recognizable tracks with soul samples and drum kits. Shlohmo added the following description to his perfect summer soundtrack:

"Put it on the big screen at the BBQ. put it on the radio while you driving with tacos on your lap. put it on ur phone while u sleepin under that tree. big heat wave lounge style with a plate + a red cup in hand. this ones 4 tha summer." - Shlohmo

In addition to putting it on SoundCloud, Shlohmo uploaded this to his YouTube channel with accompanying visuals. The video follows the established WEDIDIT aesthetic, mixing the tracks' music videos with lo-fi stock footage and dark images. Check out the tracklist and stream below. Enjoy!

Stream EDC Las Vegas 2017 Sets From Porter Robinson, Dillon Francis, Louis The Child, Jauz, Mr. Carmack, San Holo & More

Porter Robinson Louis The Child Dillon Francis

Despite record-breaking temperatures, 2017’s much-anticipated EDC Vegas run was once again a success. The massive event has drawn over 100,000 people a day to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for years now, and 2017 was no different. The stage design was impressively over the top, the production was stellar and, most importantly, the music was great. About half of the sets were uploaded to SoundCloud over the weekend, featuring a host of performances from artists across the board.

As for our favorites over at TSIS, Friday night saw a special b2b set featuring Audien and 3LAU, two producers with a similar signature vibe that came together seamlessly onstage. The two kept it interesting, switching between heavy originals like SAYMYNAME’s “Turn Up Da Bass” and lighter, euphoric tracks like Audien’s “One More Weekend.” San Holo’s Friday night set also impressed, tying in hip-hop and rap remixes with various euphoric originals to create a truly captivating performance.

On Saturday the always unique Mr. Carmack switched things up with a tastefully experimental set, pulling the crowd in with light, atmospheric synths before taking things deeper and deeper throughout the rest of his performance. Never one to conform to the status quo, the artist provided an interesting departure from some of the other producers in the mix.

Sunday also saw an insane b2b performance, this time from bass powerhouses Jauz, Diplo and Alison Wonderland. The set was infectiously heavy from the first note, starting strong with an intense trap remix of Skrillex and Habstrakt’s popular single “Chicken Soup” and keeping the energy high from there.

Although these were some of our favorites, EDC had something for everyone this year. Check out the sets below and enjoy!
