[EXCLUSIVE] Some Of Your Favorite DJs Are In Love With Pokemon Go

Dj Pokemon Go

It's safe to say that Pokémon has once again taken over the world, this time, in a semi-literal sense. On July 6, the mega-franchise released Pokémon Go, a freemium mobile game that allows users to capture, train and battle virtual Pokémon in the real world. The game's popularity has blown up since going live and has several dance music artists hooked.

Snails exclaims,

"Pokemon Go is the best thing since electricity!"

Jauz says Pokémon Go is

"pretty much the coolest app to ever come out for DJ's, or anyone who travels a lot." He continues, "For us producers/DJs specifically, it's pretty amazing because a) 90% of us grew up as nerds with an affinity for all things Pokémon and b) we travel the world on a daily basis so the fact that there's something new and different in every single city we travel to makes it that much more motivating to get out & explore."

and adds a recent story with the game

"I was in Europe as the app came out and I have done 100% more walking around the cities I'm in than I would have without it. I was in London with Dillon Francis for 2 days after EDC UK and we walked like the entire city because both of us are so addicted to the game. I really hope it keeps the momentum it has right now because I think this game has the ability to really make a positive impact on kids lives by getting them out of the house and walking around all the time. It's not a full on exercise, but it's definitely a step in the right direction."

Dillon Francis adds,

"The game is pretty amazing for how simple it is and the nostalgia I get from it is crazy...I grew up playing the Red and Blue version so of course I love this. People can hate on the game as much as you want but the fact of the matter is it's amazing that it's getting people to go out and explore new places...I found new clothing stores in London because of the game and now know the geography better because of walking around playing...all I want now is P2P fighting and I'll probably have no life anymore. RIP my music if that happens haha."

See The Top Festival Totems We Saw At Electric Forest

Totem Vibes Post

Music festivals far and wide have earned a reputation for gathering some of the most dedicated and creative fans out there, many of whom have created their own traditions at these events. One custom, in particular, that we've seen on the rise has been the creation of Totems, or "rage sticks" as some like to call them.

If you've been to an American music festival in the past few years, you've most likely seen one...or a few hundred. They come in all shapes and sizes and are decorated head to toe to express one's outrageous humor or affection of some of the artists performing.

One of our favorite festivals, Electric Forest, just completed its 2016 edition and from what we observed, its become the epicenter of Totems in the United States. It was truly a sight to be seen and since seeing is believing, we've decided to gather the best totems we saw all weekend long.
