Why Music Streaming Could Significantly Change Soon Because Of This Legal Change

Net Neutrality

This Thursday (Dec. 14) the internet as we know it could change forever.

Spotify, Souncloud, Youtube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Google & just about every other application and website you use on a daily basis could be heavily affected by a vote happening this Thursday... The proposed regulation change would have an effect on internet users in the United States with a ripple effect across the globe.

Now here is the breakdown of what's going on: The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is set to vote on maintaining or repealing Net Neutrality – the rules that require internet service providers (ISPs) to treat all data as equal without interference. Repealing Net Neutrality would hand over control of the internet in the USA to ISPs such as Comcast, AT&T and Verizon allowing them to block or slow down websites and apps at their own discretion. See below this video to do your part. The image above illustrates what your internet options could look like in the future....

The repeal of Net Neutrality would affect every sector of the internet and could have a massive impact on music streaming. For example, Comcast could slow down or even block apps like Spotify and Apple Music and then force them to pay for higher connection speeds. This increased price will likely be passed down to the people using their services to listen to music.

Additionally, streaming services could choose to exclusively provide their content to a specific ISP - for example, Spotify or Apple Music could chose to only be accessed through the highest bidder and go with AT&T and not Comcast, or vice versa. Music consumers could be forced to change service providers or streaming services based on their location or monthly subscription plan. What we can all do to help is contact members of congress to express your concerns.

Do your part here to help save the open internet.

Zeds Dead Announce 5th Annual Red Rocks Event ‘Dead Rocks’ With Two Nights Presented by TSIS

Zeds Dead Deadrocks 2018

Red Rocks season is just around the corner, and today we’re thrilled to announce that we’re partnering with Zeds Dead to present their fifth consecutive annual Dead Rocks event! In addition to the announcement, we're excited to add that Dead Rocks will expand to a two-night run on July 2 and 3 of 2018. This explosive show only gets more and more incredible as the years go by, and the guys are guaranteed to kick things up a notch to celebrate half a decade of the summer staple.

Previous supporting acts include artists like Tchami, REZZ, Dillon Francis, Mija, NGHTMRE and many more, so there’s no doubt that 2018’s guests will be just as impressive. Sit tight for the full lineup, which will drop soon. Given the year that Zeds Dead just had, from dropping their label’s first Deadbeats Compilation in February to their massive collab “Where The Wild Things Are” with Illenium in July (which they epically previewed at Dead Rocks 2017), we can’t wait to see what the two have in store for the five-year anniversary of Dead Rocks.

Limited pre-sale tickets will go on sale tomorrow (Dec. 13) at 10 a.m. MST and general on-sale will go live this Friday, Dec. 15 at 10 a.m. MST. Find the link for both here. We can’t wait to celebrate another year on the rocks with Zeds Dead, and we hope to see you there too.

In the meantime, check out the epic promo video below that also serves as a history lesson of Red Rocks… Enjoy!
