A-Trak Switches Things Up & Drops Catchy New Deep House Track “DJs Gotta Dance More” Ft. Terry Todd

When we see new stuff from A-Trak, we expect him to be uploading one of his famous scratching routine videos, or perhaps collaborating on some type of hip-hop influenced tracks. Today however, the Fool’s Gold boss has dropped something we’ve rarely heard from him before -- a deep house track -- and it’s really good.

The new tune is called “DJs Gotta Dance More,” and it features the vocals of Terry Todd, an old school house music legend from New York. Terry Todd’s seasoned, gritty vocals look back on a time of crate-digging, catching a vibe in a crowd, and creating a unique style. A-Trak’s production combines funk with house using a twangy guitar riff and uplifting piano chords. All together, the new track is sounding really solid.

A-Trak has dipped his toes in the deep house genre in the past with tracks like “Push” and “We All Fall Down,” but this brand new number is his best yet. With how well “DJs Gotta Dance More” has turned out, perhaps A-Trak will continue to produce this type of music.

Stream “DJs Gotta Dance More,” featuring Terry Todd, below. Enjoy!

Watch A-Trak Chop Up Pusha T’s “The Games We Play” In New Turntablism Video

A-Trak is certainly one of the most prominent turntablists within the realm of electronic music. He’s been booked at a wide variety of shows and festivals where he’s able to not only throw down a DJ set, but also show off his incredibly impressive turntable routines.

Occasionally, A-Trak will take to YouTube to upload videos of himself trying out new routines. He recently posted a brief, minute long video of him messing around with Pusha T’s “The Games We Play,” one of the hottest songs off the G.O.O.D. Music artist’s recent album, Daytona.

He chops the song up right in front of us, creating a unique little segment that he then uses to transition into Eve’s “Let Me Blow Ya Mind.” The routine is short, but nearly flawless, and it’s awesome that A-Trak decided to share this with everyone.

Check out the clip of the routine below and enjoy!

Watch A-Trak Flip Porter Robinson & Madeon's "Shelter" Showing Off His Insane DJ Skills

A trak madeon Porter robinson

Veteran DJ and TSIS favorite A-Trak is back one more time before the close of 2017 with the latest installment of his #REALDJing video series, this time a quick flip of “Shelter” by Porter Robinson and Madeon. This marks the end of a busy year for the turntablist in which he linked up with top electronic and hip hop artists for impressive collabs like “Fern Gully” & “Dumbo Drop” with Baauer or “Believe” with Quavo and Lil Yachty.

Launching these huge collabs hasn’t stopped A-Trak from doing what he does best – live chopping beats in creative and impressive new ways. In this edit of “Shelter” he starts by scratching up the iconic opening melody before throwing it through a filter and manually building up to a drop with sliced up synth hits. As always A-Trak’s version of the track is fresh but familiar enough for listeners to appreciate how he decided to augment the original.

If you liked this flip check out A-Trak’s take on “Rockstar” by Post Malone and 21 Savage in another fantastic #REALDJing video. Enjoy!
