A$AP Rocky Speaks On Upcoming Album, His Non-Musical Hobbies + Freestyles Over Fire Alarm

A$AP Rocky GQ Cover Interview

With A$AP Rocky having an album on the way, we’re on high alert for new music to be coming soon. He’s stayed busy with guest features, but most of them have been either hooks or short verses, keeping us patiently awaiting new music from one of our favorites. A$AP Rocky joined GQ for an interesting video interview in addition to shedding some light on his upcoming project. See the full piece here, and enjoy this snippet of the interview + video below.

My new album is really about testing new sounds. People are scared to test new sounds, so they go with what's current 'cause it's the easy thing to do. The top 100 songs sound a certain way. People cater more to that because it's a bigger demographic behind that, or it's a guaranteed demographic behind that. I prefer to experiment and have my crowd grow with me and to reach new crowds. I don't just rap—I actually make music. That's why it takes time. These sonics represent me. - A$AP Rocky

Throughout the video interview, Rocky was thrown questions from some of his biggest influencers and friends including actor Mahershala Ali, Dior designer Kris Van Assche, designer Raf Simmons, actor Shamiek Moore and Andre 3000 among others. We get some insights to the man behind the music as he speaks about what rapper he’d name his son after, getting in fights in the club as a teenager, what he’d be doing if he wasn’t a rapper and more. The fire alarm actually goes off towards the end of the interview, which led to Rocky freestyling over the alarm and killing it. Rocky plans on releasing his album this year, so stay tuned and enjoy!

A$AP Rocky gives Ty Dolla $ign a big assist on his "Dawsin's Breek" single. Ty's forthcoming album Beach House 3 is coming soon and this new contribution from A$AP Rocky is just the thing to hold us over.

The original track brings production from none other than Mike Will Made It and had a feature from Jeremih, which has been replaced by Rocky's new feature. We've heard numerous brief features from A$AP Rocky this year including his heavy presence on the A$AP Mob album. We're patiently awaiting Rocky's upcoming album that's been teased recently with him stating we can expect it to come by the end of 2017. Rocky sounds great on the impressive beat alongside Ty, whose album is coming soon as well. Stay tuned for more and enjoy!
