Aminé Steps His Game Up With Impressive New Album “ONEPOINTFIVE”

onepointfive cover

Aminé stole everyone’s hearts back in 2016 with his infectious, speaker knocking single “Caroline.” You couldn’t go to any party without hearing it at least twice. “Caroline” led to Aminé’s appearance on XXL’s Freshman 2017 cover, which helped expose the Portland rapper to a wider audience ahead of his debut studio album Good For You

Today, Aminé drops his second studio album ONEPOINTFIVE. He was relatively quiet about his progress on the album, only hopping on Twitter back in June to let people know that he’s still alive and working. Yesterday he tweeted out a short little trailer, saying it would drop today, and -- well, here it is!

ONEPOINTFIVE is a total of 13 tracks long and features rappers Gunna, G Herbo, and Rico Nasty. Similar to Good For You, Aminée’s lyrical content tends to gravitate towards brief, intimate, little modern day love stories. The production isn’t too heavy, and it fits his style perfectly, letting you hear each syllable from him very clearly. That being said, some of these beats certainly provide a fair amount of thump.

Although we enjoyed Good For You, ONEPOINTFIVE sounds like Aminé is taking himself a bit more seriously this time around, with his focus clearly on storytelling, lyrical flow, and appropriately hard beats. If you weren’t a fan of his first album, we highly recommend giving him another chance on this new project.

Amine Links With Rising Rap Group Injury Reserve On Thumping New Single "Campfire"

Amine campfire

Amine just linked up with rising rap group, Injury Reserve, on his new song “Campfire” and it slaps. The “Caroline” rapper has been known for making some next level music videos, and is back at it with another self-directed one. The video is playful and takes a brief break in the middle for some comic relief as Amine impresses on this new collaboration. The production on “Campfire” brings knock drums that set the stage for Injury Reserve and Amine to both shine on. Enjoy!

Snakehips Team Up With Jeremih & Amine On Infectious New Single "For The F^_^k Of It" : Hip-Hop / R&B

snakehips for the fuck of it

Snakehips have a new 6-track Stay Home EP on the way and have just linked up with Jeremih and Amine for a fire new single “For The F^_^k Of It.” This new collaboration comes with a video that serves as part two of a 3-part video making up a mini movie.

The EP is a bunch of tunes that we made after a crazy few years of touring and travelling the world. We called it Stay Home as a kinda jokey way to express all the mad stuff you experience and the bizarre characters you meet along the way, and throughout that trying to stay true to yourself. The video goes with this idea too. It’s a crazy narrative that we cooked up with director Can Evgin based on an Asian woman’s journey through some incredibly trippy shit! - Snakehips

Snakehips have brought out the best in vocalists in the past and no doubt flex this skill of theirs on this new one. Jeremih is as catchy as ever and Amine shows off his hybrid style of singing and rapping on the hip-hop inspired R&B tune. Snakehips have decided to bring more old-school hip-hop influence on this project and it’s a natural fit for the talented duo. This is sounding like a hit that we’ll be hearing plenty this summer, and we’re okay with that. Enjoy!
