PREMIERE | ATLiens Team Up With TYNAN On Experimental Bass-Heavy Banger “Malfunction”

ATLiens TYnan

Today we have the pleasure of premiering an incredible new release from some absolute heavyweight bass producers. With ATLiens coming off of their hard-hitting 2017 collabs with Bassnectar and Jameston Thieves, and quickly rising Oklahoma-based producer TYNAN still riding the success of his Interloper EP, the unlikely trio has now teamed up on a brand new collab titled “Malfunction”.

Both ATLiens and TYNAN’s distinctive, glitched-out sound design mix perfectly on this latest offering. Starting off slow with some ominous orchestral instrumentation and booming percussion, it doesn’t take long for the track to whip into a powerful drop filled with explosive bass, wonky, piercing wobbles and eerie mechanical whirring. Although we’ve yet to confirm whether or not ATLiens will be switching their costumes up in the near future, we’re 100% positive that this latest offering with TYNAN is an absolute banger. Check out “Malfunction” below and enjoy!

Bassnectar Shares Trap Single "Interlock" With ATLiens On OWSLA

bassnectar owsla

As promised, Bassnectar's new single on OWSLA is here! It's a heavy bass collaboration with ATLiens called "Interlock", but may not be exactly what you expected. Bassnectar moves away from dubstep on his latest and instead goes full trap on "Interlock", putting a lot of emphasis on the percussion in the track. The production is topped off with pitched-down, distorted vocals that have a tribal feel to them.

In the second half of the song, Bassnectar and ATLiens switch things up with a more minimal drop, but still keeping the low-end bass strong. "Interlock" follows Bassnectar's remix of "Front To Back" by Buku and by simply comparing the two productions, you can tell how versatile he is as a producer. Stay tuned for a lot more music from Bassnectar. Enjoy!

Bassnectar Announces New Music Via OWSLA, New Side Project & Massive 3 Day Event

Bassnectar seems to rolling out one big announcement after another one. Recently, he shared the news of his two-day Basslantic City Festival coming to Atlantic City in April. The latest post on his website reveals a handful of awesome announcements.

This spring, Bassnectar will be dropping a new mixtape, in addition to collaborations and remixes. These include "Interlock" with ATLiens via Skrillex's label OWSLA, "Watch Out" with Dirtyphonics and the Ragga Twins, a remix of Buku's "Front To Back" (which he recently teased), a collaboration with G Jones and "some other TBA shenanigans involving Noisia, Dorfex Bos, and others.

However, the biggest news of them all is the fact that he's launching a new side project with his longtime friend Sayr called NAUX FAUX that will be "an old-school psychedelic downtempo project." While we've yet to receive concrete details on when these new side projects will begin sharing new music, Bassnectar has told fans that that information will be surfacing in the coming weeks.

There's also another Bass Center show in the works that will span three days on a major three-day holiday weekend -- stay tuned for details on that. Bassnectar's Dollar Per Bass Head charity will be kicking off its next installment shortly to give back to the community in support of organizations dedicated to better the lives of others in need. Now, we know this is a lot of information to take in so it might even be good to read through this a couple times. One thing you should know for sure is that Bassnectar has a ton planned this year that includes massive shows and plenty of music from both his solo project and his new side project. Enjoy!
