deadmau5 Shares Two New Songs "Polaris" & "Bad At Titles" With ATTLAS Off Compilation Album

deadmau5

Volume six of Mau5trap's We Are Friends compilation has arrived and it's a big one. Right off the bat we are greeted by two new deadmau5 originals, "Polaris" and "bad at titles", the latter of which is a collaboration with ATTLAS. There has been great anticipation regarding the release of both tracks so we're glad to see these two gems see the light of day.

"Polaris" is a beautiful song from beginning to end, showcasing Joel Zimmerman's knack for chilling melodies that gradually build and evolve over a song's duration. He introduces these lush, uplifting chords around the 1:30 mark and intertwines them with these gritty electro synths. While there's great contrast at first, Zimmerman smoothly blends the two together for an energetic progressive sequence.

His collaboration with ATTLAS, on the other hand, embraces a darker, techno-based sound that incorporates low-end, rumbling percussion for the majority of the song while while carrying a cinematic, space-like vibe that builds throughout.

Mau5trap's sixth edition of We Are Friends is comprised of 21 tracks and features some talented up-and-comers like No Mana, Black Gummy, Neus and many others. You'll also hear a brand new remix of deadmau5's single "Let Go" feat. Grabbitz at the very end of the minimix by NemesiZ. You can stream deadmau5's new tracks "Polaris" and "bad at titles" with ATTLAS, in addition to the whole compilation, below. Enjoy!

[PREMIERE] Attlas - Storyline Vol. 1 Mix : Refreshing Hour Long House Mix

[PREMIERE] Attlas - Storyline Vol. 1 Mix : Refreshing Hour Long House Mix - Featured Image

Last fall we covered an Attlas remix of Led Zepplin’s “Ramble On” that came as a pleasant surprise. Now we have the premiere of this producer’s latest mix and we’re excited to share it with you!

Littered with vocal samples, this new hour long, chilled out mix was made as a thank you for all the positive feedback he’s gotten on his earlier released ‘cinematic’ mix series. Serving as great background music, Storyline Vol. 1 is a chill house mix that can be the perfect background soundtrack for all settings as the hour long mix brings a refreshing vibe throughout. This mix's storyline in words from Attlas “goes in and out of perspectives, but hopefully illustrates fragments of a larger, cohesive picture. I've tried to make sure that all tracks involved get an 'ATTLAS edit' to a degree, something to keep this listen in its own little world.  Dive in with glass or mug of your favourite indulgence, and I'll see you all soon!” With a tracklist including original tracks, Bjork, Drake, Ryan Adams and more, he’s effortlessly woven together a mix filled with relaxing vibes that will surely put you in a good mood. Check out the tracklist after the jump and enjoy!

Led Zepplin is one of the most influential rock bands of all time, which scares just about any producer of ever touching their music for a remix or bootleg. Well newcomer still relatively mysterious producer ATTLAS has taken on the rock classic "Ramble On". He layers in newly added strings, drums and a variety of uplifting melodies while managing to leave the original vocals largely intact.

We are left with something that feels incredibly modern, while doing justice to the original. He's kindly passed this out as a free download, so grab a copy and listen below. Enjoy!
