Bassnectar Announces Massive New Years Eve 2017 Show In Atlanta

Bassnectar new years eve 2017

When it comes to hosting forward-thinking, large-scale events, Bassnectar is always one of the first artists that comes to mind. This year has been no different, with the experimental producer already hosting the two-day, ‘90s style Basslantic City festival in Atlanic City, the three-night “Freestyle Sessions” event in Colorado and the massive Bass Center X Festival in Virginia.

These gatherings coupled with a steady stream of new music has had the Basshead community buzzing with anticipation of where his New Years Eve show would be held. For the past two years Bassnectar has hosted his 360-degree event in Birmingham, Alabama, but has hinted throughout 2017 that the event would find a new landing pad this year.

Today he finally revealed the answer: This year’s NYE will go further south to Atlanta, Georgia. Although it will not be a 360-degree show, it’s sure to be just as unique.

“Our intention is to design a magical portal into an Alternate Universe… when you cross the Threshold we intend to explore new undiscovered dimensions using a time machine built out of human energy… sound unrealistic? We don’t think it’s unrealistic – we think it is inevitable (: “ – Bassnectar

In addition to Lorin himself, producers What So Not, Ott, and Phutureprimitive will be joining as supporting talent. The show will take place on December 31 at the GWCC (the same place Bassnectar hosted his two-day Basslanta event back in 2016). Presale tickets go on sale tomorrow at noon ET, with general on sale this Friday also at noon. Find those here. In the meantime, check out the intricate lineup art below - enjoy!

Listen To Bassnectar's New 6-Track EP 'Reflective Pt 1'

Bassnectar Reflective

Just last week TSIS favorite Bassnectar announced his newest EP, Reflective, with the drop of two impressive singles – “Underground” and “Horizons.” This diverse set of songs was shortly followed by another single, “Was Will Be” feat. Mimi Page, just before the full project. Each of these tracks explored sound of all kinds, with Bassnectar’s signature vibe successfully shining throughout. Today the producer has gifted us once more with the drop of Pt.1 of his Reflective EP, a short but sweet 6-track collection of work.

The offering is equally split between more laid-back, experimental kind of tracks and heavy, deep sound that Bassnectar fans have come to know and love. Songs like “I’m Up” and “Infrared” utilize hip-hop samples and powerful bass, presenting a unique fusion of sound that the producer has done on former hits as well. On the other side of the spectrum, “Horizons” and “Arps of Revolución” go for a more atmospheric, other-worldly approach, incorporating lush synth melodies and euphoric samples.

Through every song on this EP, Bassnectar proves once again that he’s a master of his own craft. There’s no mistaking a Bassnectar song when you hear it; whether it’s intense and powerful or gentle and mesmerizing, every release is so authentically his own. Check out Reflective below and enjoy!

Bassnectar Drops New Single "Was Will Be" ft. Mimi Page Ahead Of Reflective EP

Bassnectar green

Last week Bassnectar announced his forthcoming EP Reflective and released the first two singles from the project “Underground” and “Horizon”. Today he’s gifted us with another single “Was Will Be” taken from Reflective which is slated to drop June 16th.

The latest single features vocalist Mimi Page who has worked with Bassnectar previously on tracks including “Breathless” featured on Freestyle and “Butterfly” featured on Vava Voom. Bassnectar and Mimi Page complement each other extremely well and “Was Will Be” is a prime example of their chemistry.

The track is in perfect Bassnectar fashion as it begins with a distorted synth and Mimi’s enchanting voice. It then starts to gain energy with one of Bassnectar’s signature hip-hop vocal samples accompanied by progressing drums. Finally, the drop is everything a Bassnectar fan could wish for as it somehow manages to be trippy and laidback but also heavy and in your face… something only Bassnectar could pull off. Enjoy!
