Skrillex & Boys Noize Possibly Working On The Return Of Dog Blood

Skrillex & Boys Noize have been teasing a Dog Blood comeback for quite some time, but today it’s starting to look more and more likely that new music from the duo is on the horizon - as the two were just in the studio together.

Having reunited last year for Webster Hall’s closing performance & HARD Summer and having recently revived their Instagram account, we’re in high hopes that this latest news is just the beginning. Although so far all we have to go off is some cryptic Instagram stories from the two showing that they were both in the studio together last night (Nov. 14), with Skrillex having recently started his return via a new collab with JOYRYDE and Boys Noize coming off the startup of his new ELAX alias, we’re thinking the time might be right to expect some new Dog Blood on the way. Boys Noize Shares Debut Hourlong Mix Under New Alias ELAX

boys noize

Enigmatic producer Boys Noize has always kept a low profile when it comes to projects. Having gone by numerous names over the years including as Dog Blood with Skrillex, today the German electro veteran has just shared the first ever mix under his new alias ELAX.

Over the years we’ve seen a great deal of artists bring back or branch out to new projects. As we recently saw this with deamau5’ Testpilot & Porter Robinson’s Virtual Self, although considered somewhat a bold move, it’s always exciting to see what comes of the switch-up.

With Boys Noize having dropped his first track as ELAX only a few months ago, we’re finding this latest house/tech-fusion mix, while at the same time reminiscent of the unique sound we’ve come to know and love from Boys Noize, perfectly blurs the lines between retro, minimal 4/4 structures and gritty, thumping electro. As Boys Noise gears up to embark on Destructo’s new All My Friends Friendship Festival cruise as both himself and ELAX, make sure to keep an eye out for more to come from the new alias. Stream the mix below and enjoy!

Dog Blood Share First Post In Over A Year

Although it’s been over a year since we saw the social media resurgence of legendary duo Dog Blood, with a massive 2017 performance at both Webster Hall and HARD Summer, we still have yet to hear news of any releases in the works. But today, the Skrillex x Boys Noize supergroup have taken to Instagram yet again, stirring rumors that a full comeback may still be on the horizon.

Having only posted a picture of a Dog Blood tattoo (we’re not sure on who) with the caption “4 Lyfe”, obviously this doesn’t exactly mean that new material is imminent. But seeing as the duo have been more active lately, paired with the fact that this latest post comes almost exactly a year since their last, we’re hopeful that we’ll be hearing more from the duo in the coming months. See the post below and enjoy!
