PREMIERE | Buku Unleashes Wonky New Heavy Bass Track “YEAHBOi!”

Buku

For the past 7+ years, Buku has been absolutely killing it in the bass-music world. From hard-hitting originals such as “Front to Back” and “Control” to remixes of GRiZ and The Knocks, the Pittsburgh-based producer has continued to impress with every release - and today is no exception, as we’re excited to be premiering Buku’s brand new track “YEAHBOi!”.

“YEAHBOi! came from a place of unrestrained creativity. This playful attitude that developed allowed this song to flow about as free as anything I've made. After having the chance to test it over the last few months, I feel as though I've dialed in something that engages a freedom of inhibitions.” - Buku

This latest offering perfectly exemplifies the heavy yet wonky/energetic sound Buku has been perfecting for quite some time. Characterized by bouncy synth melodies, warbling growls, skittering percussion and heavy, pulsing bass, we’re definitely excited to hear this one live at both weekends of Electric Forest. Check out “YEAHBOi!” below and enjoy!

Listen To Bassnectar's Must-Hear Remix Of Buku's "Front To Back"

bassnectar

Bassnectar has already made quite a bit of noise this year with the announcement of his two-day Basslantic City festival in Atlantic City, new music coming out on OWSLA, a new side project called NAUX FAUX and an even bigger, three-day Bass Center event. Well we have some more Bassnectar news for you and it's the release of his official remix of Buku's "Front To Back" on Spinnin' Records that we heard a live preview of last month.

Bassnectar gradually filters in the female vocal hook and steadily builds a pulsating sequence of grinding electro / dubstep synths that come in with great power. The remix isn't overly heavy by any means. It's actually pretty melodic and hits a sweet spot in terms of the amount of bass. Bassnectar nailed this one and we can't wait to hear his upcoming releases. Stream his remix of Buku's "Front To Back" below and enjoy!
