Carve Pumpkins With Claude VonStroke And Win VIP Passes To Suwannee Hulaween 2017

Claude Von Stroke Hulaween contest

Between dropping his debut, self-titled album under his real name and new hip-hop alias Barclay Crenshaw, sharing a small Works Well With Others EP, making an appearance on GRiZ’s Good Will Continue remix album and more, house legend Claude VonStroke has been as formidable as ever throughout 2017.

Today we’re excited to announce we've teamed up with one of our favorite festivals Suwannee Hulaween to give Claude VonStroke fans the chance to meet the Dirtybird founder himself during a pumpkin carving session at the festival. If that isn’t incentive enough, we’re throwing in two VIP weekend passes, two pre-party (which will take place the Thursday before the festival) passes, two VIP merch bags, one car camping pass and a four-night stay at a local hotel!

Hulaween is guaranteed to be stacked this year with one of its most impressive lineups yet; artists like BassnectarNick Murphy (fka Chet Faker), GRiZRL GrimeFKJ and more are set to descend on one of the nation’s most incredible venues from Oct. 26 – 29. Find tickets here and enter the contest through the widget below. Enjoy!

Also be sure not to miss Claude VonStroke's set Friday 10/27 10:30-11:30 on the Spirit Lake stage.

GRiZ Drops Incredible ‘Good Will Continue’ Remix Album Ft. Opiuo, Barclay Crenshaw, Boogie T & More

griz good will continue

GRiZ’s exciting Good Will Continue remix album is finally here! A household name for future funk and overall electronic fans alike, this Detroit-born producer has been a TSIS favorite since we started covering music years ago. After watching him grow since then, it’s safe to say 2017 has been GRiZ’s biggest year yet. He started off strong back in January when he reunited with Gramatik to drop “As We Proceed,” which has remained one of the biggest tracks of the year so far. He hasn’t slowed down since, appearing on a staggering amount of festival lineups, announcing his two-day Red Rocks event (which will include his live band debut), hosting GRiZMAS in July and much, much more.

Today GRiZ has kept that momentum as strong as ever with the drop of Good Will Continue, the long awaited remix album that he announced a month ago in addition to sharing a track from the album: Opiuo’s psychedelic take on “PS GFY,” which we premiered on the site in July. The 13-track album features both familiar and fresh faces to the industry, with the reworks branching into genres of all kinds. Artists like AC Slater, Claude VonStroke as Barclay Crenshaw, Tommy Trash and more offer their takes on GRiZ favorites, with each bringing their own signatures ranging from house, trap, funk, electro house and more to the tracks. What results is a fantastically diverse offering that has a little something for everyone within. Check out Good Will Continue and the accompanying tour dates below. Enjoy!

Claude VonStroke Drops 'Transmission 002' Hip-Hop Mixtape Under His Barclay Crenshaw Side Project

Barclay Crenshaw

Between managing his label Dirtybird Records, being a pioneer in tech house music, and playing festivals around the world, it would seem that Claude VonStroke has his hands full. But the LA producer still somehow finds time for side projects, and he just released his second mixtape under his real name, Barclay Crenshaw. "Transmission 002" features a mix of "old school classics, forthcoming releases, exclusive edits, and more," according to the man himself.

Barclay has said that he first fell in love with hip-hop before creating the sound Dirtybird is known for, and the classic rap songs in this mix are a testament to that. The mix starts off with the legendary "Eric B. Is President" by Eric B. & Rakim before it takes the listener on a journey crossing multiple genres. The bass heavy hip-hop carries the vibe throughout the 40-minute mix, where he weaves between trap, dubstep, grime, and other aggressive drops.

Hip-hop legends like Big Boi, MF Doom, Royce da 5'9" and JME are placed between these different styles, but the talented Barclay Crenshaw seamlessly makes them all fit together. One of the highlights in the mix is around the 26:30 mark where he flips Bon Iver's slow and meloncholy "715 - CRΣΣKS" into a danceable track filled with snares and auto-tune. We can't wait to hear more from him regardless of the alias he uses, and are looking forward to Claude's next original track next month. Enjoy!
