Zeds Dead Pay Homage To Drum ’N Bass With Special New Edition Of Deadbeats Radio Mix

Zeds Dead Drum & Bass Deadbeats Radio

Deadbeats Radio has been pumping out quality mixes ever since its inception just six months ago. It’s truly jaw dropping how many tracks Zeds Dead are sitting on in their music library to be able to throw down an hourlong mix every week. Every few weeks or so the Canadian duo chooses to keep their radio mixes fresh by introducing a guest or by having a “special” mix like their dubstep throwback episode, which remains their most popular episode to date. This past weekend, Zeds Dead decided to put out a Drum ‘n Bass version of Deadbeats Radio as their 29th episode, and it’s fire all the way through.

Early on in the mix the two artists hop on the mic to discuss their background with drum ‘n bass. They talk about how it was their first “gateway drug into electronic music” and how it inspired them to really hone in their production skills. It’s safe to say that without dnb, Zeds Dead may not have been the power duo they are today, so it’s cool to see them pay homage to the groundbreaking genre.

Zeds Dead themselves have stated that they will be focusing their 2018 efforts in the studio working on new music, growing their label, their radio show, and their live shows. They also noted that there will be even more guest mixes and themed episodes for Deadbeats Radio, so if you liked this mix, be on the lookout for more.

Zeds Dead Share Hourlong "Dubstep Throwback" Mix For Deadbeats Radio

Zeds Dead dubstep throwback

Zeds Dead is back with their latest installment of their label mix series, DEADBEATS RADIO, which takes listeners on a journey back to Dubstep roots. DEADBEATS RADIO #017 is deemed the ‘Dubstep Throwback’ episode and is full of tracks from Rusko, Skream, Chase & Status, Caspa, Nero and many more legendary producers.

Deadbeats has been churning out impressive content recently with Kid Froopy’s Debut EP and Devault’s latest single “Don’t Want You To”. But today, the talented duo pay tribute to the pioneers of dubstep, a genre that Zeds Dead themselves have helped progress into the sounds we hear today. With monumental tracks such as Rusko’s “Cockney Thug” or Excision and Datsik’s “Boom”, this mix is any 2000’s OG dubstep fans dream… Enjoy!

[PREMIERE] Rising Artist Kid Froopy Shares Debut EP 'Drive Slow' Via Deadbeats: Indie-Electronic

Kid Froopy Drive Slow EP Art

Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats label has turned us onto some impressive new artists, with Kid Froopy being one that stands out to us every time. We’ve had the pleasure of linking up with Froopy on premieres for “Dreams” & “Drive Slow,” the title track of his debut EP, Drive Slow, we're excited to be premiering today.

Kid Froopy has had a busy year so far and keeps his output up with this new 8-track project. In addition to his releases on Deadbeats, the newcomer has shared a spree of remixes and linked up with one of our favorite groups Terror Jr to contribute production on their two most recent projects we've had on repeat. Froopy has a distinct sound that's difficult to classify but always leaves us impatiently awaiting his next release.

He has a way of crafting tracks that are incredibly relaxing while bright and catchy at the same time. The talented artist utilizes his infectious vocals alongside shimmering, mystical production is a dreamlike way that's entirely his own. This is an artist you should become familiar with if you aren’t yet so be sure to check out the full EP, which includes remixes from Niko Blank, umru, Lil Texas and Ducky. To celebrate this debut EP, Froopy will be taking over Beats 1 Radio show HYPERHOUSE for a special guest mix that will be airing Friday Oct. 20 at 12AM EST. Be sure to catch Froopy on tour alongside Terror Jr as well - see dates below. Enjoy!
