PREMIERE | Jaenga Transforms "Kill Em" By Zeds Dead Into Retro Bass Banger On TSIS Debut via Deadbeats

To say bass artist Jaenga is a “newcomer” would be a mistake. While we have the pleasure of premiering his debut track today, Jaenga has been a budding staple of bass music’s live scene for years now. You may know Jaenga from the renegade sets he hosts on his purple school bus at Electric Forest and Camp Bisco, attracting top talent like GRiZ and Buku with a collaborative vibe that encourages wild late-night shows.  Zeds Dead noticed the live community that Jaenga was building and today we bring you Jaenga’s first release on their Deadbeats label, a remix of the Zeds Dead original track “Kill Em”.

Jaenga’s take on “Kill Em” brings a retro bass sound to the here and now. The first few moments of the track give a taste of the drum & bass breaks that Jaenga weaves into his bass-heavy projects, and the rumbling soundscape that underpins the first verse foreshadows the spacey, high-energy production to come. Jaenga is a master of mixing atmospheric buildups with hard-hitting drops, enveloping the listener in woozy synths before fully unleashing his enjoyably raw production on the drop.

Duke & Jones Make TSIS Debut With Wonky, Genre-Blending ‘Dystopia’ EP Via Deadbeats

duke & jones dystopia ep

Manchester-based duo Duke & Jones have been absolutely killing it lately. Coming off some recent remixes of Zeds Dead & Jauz’ “Lights Go Down” and Zedd & Elley Duhé’s “Happy Now”, today they’ve continued to impress with their heavy new 4-track Dystopia EP.

It’s apparent Duke & Jones put some long hours in on this latest offering. Starting off with their previously released single “Fade To Black”, each of the EP’s four tracks seems to drop deeper and deeper into a eerie, alien-like sonic realm. From wonky, disorienting synth wobbles to skittering percussion and booming bass, this new project will definitely have your brain doing backflips. Stream Dystopia below, out now on Deadbeats and enjoy!

It’s always a good day when Zeds Dead drops something new - but today they’ve shared something extra special. Coming off the duo’s incredible Deadbeats label, today Zed’s dead has has teamed up with DNMO on a brand new collab titled “We Could Be Kings” ft. Tzar.

We’ve been watching up-and-coming producer DNMO for quite some time now and are pumped to see him team up with the very duo that got him into producing on this latest offering. Filled with dark, pulsing synths, skittering percussion and heavy, booming bass, LA-based artist Tzar’s powerful vocals perfectly round out this absolute banger of a track.

“When I was 11 years old I used to blast the Zeds Dead eyes on fire remix and it inspired me to start producing. 6 years down the line I’m about to release a song with them... couldn’t be more stoked on life right now.” - DNMO
