[EXCLUSIVE] Some Of Your Favorite DJs Are In Love With Pokemon Go

Dj Pokemon Go

It's safe to say that Pokémon has once again taken over the world, this time, in a semi-literal sense. On July 6, the mega-franchise released Pokémon Go, a freemium mobile game that allows users to capture, train and battle virtual Pokémon in the real world. The game's popularity has blown up since going live and has several dance music artists hooked.

Snails exclaims,

"Pokemon Go is the best thing since electricity!"

Jauz says Pokémon Go is

"pretty much the coolest app to ever come out for DJ's, or anyone who travels a lot." He continues, "For us producers/DJs specifically, it's pretty amazing because a) 90% of us grew up as nerds with an affinity for all things Pokémon and b) we travel the world on a daily basis so the fact that there's something new and different in every single city we travel to makes it that much more motivating to get out & explore."

and adds a recent story with the game

"I was in Europe as the app came out and I have done 100% more walking around the cities I'm in than I would have without it. I was in London with Dillon Francis for 2 days after EDC UK and we walked like the entire city because both of us are so addicted to the game. I really hope it keeps the momentum it has right now because I think this game has the ability to really make a positive impact on kids lives by getting them out of the house and walking around all the time. It's not a full on exercise, but it's definitely a step in the right direction."

Dillon Francis adds,

"The game is pretty amazing for how simple it is and the nostalgia I get from it is crazy...I grew up playing the Red and Blue version so of course I love this. People can hate on the game as much as you want but the fact of the matter is it's amazing that it's getting people to go out and explore new places...I found new clothing stores in London because of the game and now know the geography better because of walking around playing...all I want now is P2P fighting and I'll probably have no life anymore. RIP my music if that happens haha."

Listen To Dillon Francis' Trap Remix Of Phantoms’ “Call My Name"

Dillon Press 55

If you've logged onto any streaming platform lately and legitimately think you've seeing Dillon Francis' name pop up every single time, you're not crazy. The Los Angeles DJ/producer has put out three releases in the past two weeks. His latest output is a remix of Phantoms' summery house single, "Call My Name." Listen below:

Phantoms - Call My Name (Dillon Francis Remix) | iTunes

Francis' remake casts the production with a darker tone and completely transforms the drop with a hollow pluck trap sequence. The versatile producer has certainly set the pace for the summer and simply leaves us wondering...how many more Dillon Francis tunes can we handle this season?

Dillon Francis - Candy (ft. Snappy Jit) : Trap / Moombahton

While his rebellious pet piñata Gerald may want the releases to come to a halt, we can confidently say we're excited for any more summer treats thrown our way. Enjoy his latest remix above!

Dillon Francis - Candy (ft. Snappy Jit) : Trap / Moombahton

Dillon Francis Smile

Dillon Francis fans are in for quite the summer treat. The producer's newest release, "Candy," meshes twerk, trap and moombahton into one booty-shaking anthem. The production is primarily conducted by firm brass chords, but are nicely countered by the spunky pitched-up vocals of Snappy Jit which add that extra bit of zest and sexual flair to the tune.

The "Candy" music video is really icing on the cake and features Francis' pet piñata, Gerald, along with its diverse group of dancing friends from around the world. Prior to the video's release, Francis put up a "Gerald Piñata Bundle" on his merchandise store. The bundle sold out in less than 24 hours. See below for the description of the product:

"This is Gerald. He's an actual piñata and we've loaded him up with real candy, toys, mystery goodies, and a one-time-only limited edition t-shirt. There are only 50 of these being made available so if you like donkeys, candy, shirts, toys or all of the above grab one now before he rides off into the sunset." Better luck next time, folks.

Anyway, be sure to stream Dillon Francis' brand new tune, "Candy," out on Columbia Records.
