Dirtybird Campout Announces Solid Lineup For 2018 West Coast Edition

dbc

Dirtybird’s bi-annual, summer camp themed, boutique music festival, Dirtybird Campout, has just announced their lineup for their West Coast edition this year. The lineup features over 50 different artists, with some bigger names than we’re used to seeing on a DBC lineup like: Gorgon City, Chris Lake, and Mark Ronson.

Of course, the Dirtybird crew will be in full force, bringing out the cream of their crop with Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin, Fisher, Walker & Royce, Shiba San, OMNOM, Catz ‘N Dogz, and more. And as always, there’s a couple wildcards thrown into the mix that you wouldn’t necessarily expect to see at a house music festival. Old school rappers Big Daddy Kane and Slick Rick will be performing this year, which I don't think anyone saw coming.

The festival is to take place from October 5-7, in another brand new location in Northern California: the Modesto Reservoir Campgrounds. Attendees can expect a number of improvements to the festival with the new location, including reservoir water for swimming in, a setting full of shady trees and irrigated land, and a more intimate layout in general.

Claude VonStroke Drops Unique Mix Album “Live In Detroit” Featuring His Epic Set From Movement

claude detroit

Once a year, house and techno heads from all over the country flock to Detroit, Michigan for America’s best and baddest festivals, Movement. Having Detroit roots, and also being one of the most trailblazing DJs, Claude VonStroke has been asked to play Movement over 10 times.

In honor of the city of Detroit and its legendary house and techno history, the Dirtybird don wanted to do something extra special. After clearing over 150 tracks, many of which were never before heard, Claude laid down not only one of the best sets of the festival, but perhaps his career.

“I always want to bring the hottest possible set for Detroit, it’s where it all started, and my parents always come watch. My set is very much an old-school style DJ set, all music no-one’s heard before, special versions, secret edits, all the stuff I’ve been saving just for this performance,” Claude states in a press release.

After putting so much work into a set, VonStroke decided to make an entire project out of it. Thankfully, the mix in its entirety will be released to the public, along with each track that he plays, via a 20-track compilation. The compilation includes some brand new Dirtybird tracks from artists like Will Clarke, Born Dirty, and Claude VonStroke, himself.

“It seems crazy to release a mix album in today’s world, but the amount of incredible original music I have collected from both known and unknown producers will make this something people can get really excited about.”

Chris Lake Joins Forces With Dirtybird Duo Walker & Royce On Killer New EP “Dance With Me”

chris lake walker royce

Chris Lake continues to unload on 2018. He already had two successful releases under his belt with “Turn Off The Lights” and “Lose My Mind,” but now the Grammy-nominated producer steps up once again to release his highly anticipated “Dance With Me” EP with none other than Dirtybird champions Walker & Royce.

Chris Lake and Walker & Royce are currently considered some of the top producers within the house community, and once Chris Lake began dropping hints that his latest collaboration was with the Dirtybird duo, the hype train took off. Both artists have been dropping these massive, bass-filled, house tracks in their sets since the the beginning of the year, so the fact that they’ve finally surfaced on an official release is very fulfilling.

If you’re a fan of heavy, distortion based sound design, thumping kick drums, and all around savage production, you have to check out this new EP. Enjoy!
