Dr. Dre Says He's Working On Music, Legendary 'Detox' Album Could Still Happen

Dr Dre Detox

Dr. Dre is up to something. For years the legendary hip-hop producer and rapper has been teasing his long-awaited follow-up to his classic album 2001 titled Detox. As a marketing push for the 2015 Straight Outta Compton movie, Dre stepped away from the notorious Detox project to deliver a different album titled Compton.

Although it seemed Detox would never see the light of day, Dre has spoken about it saying “I’m working on a couple songs right now. We’ll see.” This is incredibly exciting news. The project hasn’t seen the light of day because Dre didn’t like it, saying "It wasn't good. The record, it just wasn't good. I worked my ass off on it, and I don't think I did a good enough job." However, now he seems to be open to the idea of sharing the legendary album after all. Dre was at a Warriors practice when ESPN reporter Chris Haynes asked if Detox would ever come out, and got a positive response. We’re hoping this means Detox will see the light of day. Enjoy!

Dr. Dre Announces Eminem’s Impending ‘REVIVAL’ Album Release Date Via Instagram

Just a month after his cryptic album rollout began, we finally have a release date for the legendary Eminem’s much-anticipated new album REVIVAL. The mysterious hype around the project sprung up in late October when Eminem’s manager posted a photo that seemed to reveal the album name in the form of a medication. Just a week later Eminem announced the album’s first single, “Walk On Water,” via an Instagram post of a prescription notepad. This announcement quickly followed with the first single featuring Beyoncé coming just one day later.

Thanks to Dr. Dre and a humorous advertisement-style video posted to his Instagram page, we finally have a release date for REVIVAL: The offering will drop in less than three weeks on December 15. We can only hope this means that Dr. Dre and Eminem will collaborate on the project, especially considering that arguably both of the artists’ best work has been together.

We couldn’t be more stoked by this announcement, and we can’t wait to see what Eminem has in store come December. Check out the announcement video below and enjoy!

Eminem Is Collaborating With Dr. Dre On New Songs Off Soundtrack Of Movie He's Producing

Dr. Dre Eminem

Eminem is no stranger to movies about battle rap. After coming up through Detriot’s battle rap scene, he starred in the classic 8 Mile and now has a new battle rap movie coming out that he’s been working on.

Eminem’s new film Bodied has the legend taking a new role, as the producer this time. On top of that he’ll be linking up with none other than Dr. Dre for a couple songs. We can’t wait to hear what Dre and Em have been working on because it’s undoubted that these two bring out the best in each other. Stay tuned for the soundtrack and movie!
