Ekali Reveals That He’s Working On A Collab With DROELOE

ekali droeloe sbs

Ekali seems to be able to collaborate with all of the best artists. Not only has he been teasing this unreal track with sharply rising artist 1788-L, but he recently took to Twitter to announce that he is now teaming up with Dutch sensations DROELOE on a new number.

Ekali and DROELOE share similar styles. Both are able to venture off into either side of the bass music spectrum: focusing on melodies and creating really beautiful music with great low end, or going all out on a ridiculously hard banger. Ekali has been focusing on some pretty heavy stuff lately, so we wouldn't be surprised if he went the other way for this collab with DROELOE.

No matter what the finish product will sound like, we're stoked to eventually hear it. Stay tuned for more!

DROELOE Deliver Emotional New Track “Looking Back” Off Forthcoming EP

droeloe

Over the past few years, Dutch duo DROELOE has become one of our favorite up-and-coming acts in electronic music. From their incredible debut EP to their collabs with Taska Black, San Holo and more, the two continue to grow an evolve their music in the most interesting ways. Today, the duo has added to their continuously expanding discography with the release of a brand new single, “Looking Back”.

Apparently this latest offering came about when Vincent of DROELOE was in LA and met another artist in the Trap Nation creative house. The two recorded a low quality demo of “Looking Back” which prompted Vincent to return to the track and lay down his own vocals.

“When I started doing it, I thought ‘yo this could actually be something’ and that’s how this came about. I found out that I really enjoy singing now, so that was nice. Conceptually this track is like reminiscing over the whole roller coaster ride that has been the past year and mostly appreciating the people that helped you get through it and the hard times. The people who you are happy are part of your life.” - Vincent of DROELOE

While we heard a preview of “Looking Back” when DROELOE took over bitbird radio a few week back, the final version is sounding incredibly fresh. Characterized by distant, plucked melodies, skittering percussion, powerful, pulsing bass and Vincent’s emotional vocals, this latest from the duo comes as the first release off their upcoming second EP. Check out “Looking Back” below and make sure to keep an eye out for DROELOE’s new EP The Choices We Face, out on on August 7th. Enjoy!

DROELOE Takes Over 18th Episode Of bitbird Radio For Impressive Hourlong Mix

droeloe

Over the past few years, San Holo’s bitbird label has become home to some incredible producers. Constantly pushing unique, forward-thinking from Autolaser, Taska Black, Duskus and more, we we’re very excited last November when San introduced bitbird radio as a bi-weekly mix for all things bitbird and beyond. Today we’ve reached the 18th installment of the mix series, featuring a special guest takeover by none-other than DROELOE.

With this latest mix we’ve not learned that San is currently in the final stages of mastering his album, but also that bitbird, and specifically DROELOE have some fresh new music on the way. Starting off with an incredible unreleased song by Analogue Dear and Yvette Young, mix #18 features some fantastic recent releases including “Feel The Love”off of Kid Cudi & Kanye’s Kids See Ghosts, Hex Cougar’s remix of KRANE’s “Chemical” and many more. Also included on the mix (at 42:55) is a preview of an unreleased DROELOE track titled “Looking Back”, which will apparently be the the first track on their upcoming The Choices We Face EP. Check out bitbird Radio #018 below and see here for the complete tracklist. Enjoy!
