More details about a potential, Coachella-like, festival in Colorado have surfaced, and Denver residents are becoming increasingly excited. Bonnaroo’s and Outside Lands’ promotion company, Superfly, has verified that the city of Denver is the preferred home to their potential project.
This was announced after the City Of Denver’s Special Event Office expressed interest in hosting the festival at the Overland Park Golf Course, which is located four miles south of the downtown area. Initial talks of the festival suggested that there was a possibility it would take place in Denver’s northern suburb, Westminster. Superfly has discontinued that possibility and it's now up the promoters and the City of Denver to agree on a contract and then be voted on by City Council.
Additionally, Superfly was originally partnered with AEG, another dominant festival production company. However, AEG has made a statement declaring that they will no longer participate in the creation of the festival, meaning it is solely constructed by Superfly. The festival organizers have proposed that it be a three-day festival housing 30,000-60,000 attendees per day, starting in 2018. We're hoping this means Denver will finally have a major music festival down the road. Enjoy!
