Flying Lotus Drops Incredible Soulful New Track "Night Grows Pale"

flying lotus night grows pale

Flying Lotus just returned yesterday after not releasing music for a while and we couldn’t be more excited to hear what he’s been working on. Yesterday’s release was an impressive remix of the Twin Peaks theme song and now he’s shared a new original track “Night Grows Pale”.

This new track uses a dreamy a sample of Queen’s “White Queen (As It Began),” and it’s sounding amazing. It’s been since 2014 that we received his latest album You’re Dead! as he’s been working on his first full length movie Kuso, and this new original track has us hoping there’s more content on the way. As we’ve come to expect from Flylo, his crisp percussion is joined by jazzy instrumentation with an uplifting tone surrounding the soulful vocal sample. Enjoy!

Flying Lotus Returns With Remix Of 'Twin Peaks' TV Show Theme Song

flying lotus twin peaks

Flying Lotus is back with his first release in 2017! Over the years, he's built the reputation of being an extremely outlandish and particular producer. He maintains that reputation with his latest upload which is a remix of the Twin Peaks theme song. For those of you unfamiliar, Twin Peaks was a TV show that was super popular back in the 90’s and developed a strong cult following. Since its cancelation in its second season, Twin Peaks has been deemed as “one of the greatest television dramas ever made” and is a common reference in media today.

Now Flying Lotus has put his magic touch on the theme song leading up to the show's upcoming return for season 3. Flying Lotus has taken the memorable theme song and worked his magic to turn it into a laidback Hip-Hop beat with skittering hi-hats. He has kept the integrity of the original song’s mysterious plucks and epic strings but layered on a clean percussion pattern that results in an interesting, but dope, track. Enjoy!

Stream & Download Thundercat’s New Album “Drunk” Ft. Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Wiz Khalifa & More

Thundercat Drunk Artwork

Incredibly talented bassist & vocalist Thundercat has dropped his third studio album Drunk via Fly Lotus’ Brainfeeder label. The 23-track project spans 50 minutes and brings on features from Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Wiz Khalifa, Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins as well as contributions from Flying Lotus and Kamasi Washington, who's a highly regarded Jazz Sax player that has collaborated with Kendrick Lamar and others.

Thundercat has established himself as a high-demand studio bassist whose wild, frantic basslines have contributed to numerous artists such as Kendrick Lamar and Flying Lotus. Here he takes a very not serious approach to his music as everything from the artwork to the lyrics have a comical tone.

Thundercat’s music is weird. He injects his bizarre personality into his songs along with an endless amount of funk and soul blended with jazz, hip-hop, R&B and more across the genre-blending project. His jazzy basslines are paired with his breezy, dazed vocals across the relaxing and dreamy project. Kendrick, Wiz and Pharrell each contribute exactly how you would expect them to in their signature styles. Stream below and enjoy!
