PREMIERE | Say Hello To ODESZA's First Female Label Signee EVAN GIIA With Her New Single & Video “WESTWORLD”

Evan giia westworld

Today we’re stoked to premiere a stunningly smooth single titled “WESTWORLD” from rising vocalist EVAN GIIA. In addition to making her TSIS debut with this track, GIIA earns a well-deserved spot as the first-ever female project released on ODESZA’s amazing Foreign Family Collective imprint.

“The first time we heard ‘WESTWORLD’ we were immediately drawn to how much of an anthem it was. We found ourselves coming back to it over and over throughout our last tour. EVAN GIIA encapsulates a lot of the same things that excite us about the future of electronic music. We’re extremely honored to not only represent her on our label but also to work with someone with such vision, talent and determination.” - ODESZA

With an effortless tone and refreshing production to match, “WESTWORLD” is a perfect fit for the Foreign Family Collective's signature sound we've loved from each and every release. While GIIA’s vocal style is undeniably breezy, she holds her own on a bouncy drop brimming with pulsing percussion and playful synth melodies. The song belongs to her voice as much as it does to the production, and the result is an infectious offering that will have you hitting repeat again and again.

"I am honored to be the first female project released on FFC" says GIIA. "WESTWORLD is about having the courage to break free from social norms and pursue what makes you happy. I hope the song inspires listeners to go out and do the things they love." GIIA is heading out on tour with fellow FFC artist Kasbo -see dates below. Check it out below and enjoy!

Kasbo Announces Debut Album + Must Hear Single "Aldrig Mer (Ft. TENDER)"

Kasbo Aldrig Mer

One of our favorite artists Kasbo is getting ready for a big year and we couldn’t be more excited. Over the years we’ve premiered quite a few songs dating all the way back to his Umbrella Club EP in his early days. Now he’s not only shared an absolutely amazing new single “Aldrig Mer” featuring Indie group TENDER, but he’s made the announcement that we can expect his debut album Places We Don’t Know on March 23 via Foreign Family Collective / Counter Records.

Last year we saw the Swede push his creative capacity in a big way, which we can pinpoint to his remix of Big Gigantic's "The Little Things" and then was followed by a string of singles ending the year with "Snow in Gothenburg" as he improves with each release.. He’s been releasing a string of singles off the project including “Lay It On Me” featuring Keiynan Lonsdale, “Bleed It Out” featuring Nea and “Snow In Gothenburg” so the album is shaping up quite nicely, to say the least.

"With his new 13 track project ‘Places We Don’t Know,’ Kasbo has refined his sound and come into his own. Throughout this album he excels creatively, producing his most compelling music to date. He actively explores juxtaposing ideas, creating tracks which are complex yet relatable, melancholic while still beautiful. For us, this is Kasbo at his best. We are proud to give this record a home at Foreign Family Collective and can’t wait for it to resonate with listeners like it did for us.” - ODESZA

On this newest single Kasbo and TENDER prove to be the perfect match on the mystical indie electronic song that might be his best yet. As always, Kasbo’s laidback melodies are filled with emotion brought to life with his refreshing sound design and TENDER’s whispery vocals serving as the perfect compliment. Kasbo is also heading out on his first headline North American tour this spring so be sure to catch that if he’s coming to a city near you - see dates below. I had the pleasure of catching Kasbo’s debut live show here in Denver, which was an amazing first taste of his live performance that’s in the same live lane as Flume and ODESZA utilizing live drums, keys and guitar. Enjoy!

Big Wild Links With Hundred Waters For Mystical Track "Show Me" Via Foreign Family Collective

Big Wild Hundred Waters

Big Wild is back yet again with his track “Show Me” alongside rising OWSLA band Hundred Waters. The track was originally released a couple years ago as an unofficial remix of the Hundred Waters original, and now it’s being re-released as a Big Wild original with a Hundred Waters feature.

Released via ODESZA’s Foreign Family, this new track beautifully utilizes Hundred Waters’ dreamy vocals, building gentle chords and calming melodies around it. We heard Skrillex, Chance The Rapper and Moses Sumney previously take on the original for an incredible remix, and now Big Wild has put his mystical touch on the track. Big Wild’s version builds new production from the ground up earning itself a release as an original track opposed to a remix as his organic instrumentation blends perfectly with the laid-back production we’ve come to know him for. Enjoy!
