[PREMIERE] Aryay Drops Refreshing Future Bass Track “Always Wanted You” Feat. Kimbra Via OWSLA

Aryay Always Wanted You

OWSLA’s own Aryay has been on the rise for the past few years, consistently dropping stellar remixes and singles. The artist got his start as a local DJ in the vibrant Chicago scene, working under Flosstradamus as an intern while honing his style, which he refers to as “Lion Sound.” He went on to team up with Flosstradamus and LOUDPVCK to remix Raury’s “God’s Whisper” and Major Lazer’s “Be Together,” and he has produced his own unique future bass releases like “R YOU OK,” premiered on TSIS back in 2015.

Today we’re happy to be premiering Aryay’s first track of 2017, “Always Wanted You” feat. Kimbra, out now on OWSLA. The track features a feverish build that couples well with Kimbra’s sharp vocals, evolving into a powerful, slashing future bass drop that adds an uplifting aspect to the song. Aryay does an excellent job layering Kimbra’s hypnotic tone in with the production, and his signature lion’s roar at the end of each track adds a whole new spin on the idea of “Lion Sound.” Listen to the track below and enjoy!

Rising Artist Emmit Fenn Shares Soulful Future Bass Single "1995"

Emmit Fenn 1995

21-year-old artist Emmit Fenn recently made his TSIS debut for his incredible soulful single “Modern Flame” alongside vocalist Yuna and is back with another solid indie electronic song showing why he's an artist to keep an eye on. The talented artist produces, writes and sings on his releases and is back once again with the latest track “1995” off his upcoming EP.

“In every song, I always want to do something completely different then the one before, so every song has a unique feel and can live in its own space. For 1995, which I’ve been holding on to for almost 2 years now, I really wanted to explore the feeling of being in a lucid state and what that feels and sounds like. After about 10 different versions of the song, my good friend Naderi and I went in and it finally all came together” - Emmit Fenn

This latest release further shows Fenn’s versatility showcasing his ability to create soulful, moody tracks combining organic and electronic elements as he worked alongside TSIS favorite producer Naderi. His gentle, passionate vocals are given subtle effects with slight autotune adding just the right amount of edge. The smooth, rolling production combines beautiful piano melodies with skittering hi-hats and rolling synths giving the song an almost haunting undertone while still remaining soulful.

"1995" includes electronic production throughout and is the focus on the future bass-styled drop incorporating saxophone. Along with the song, he’s launched his new site with multimedia interactive content alongside Active Theory to “to create a digital experience to follow each layer of the project.” You can see a video clip of this below, but check out the site to get the full experience. Enjoy!

Falcons and GoldLink Team Up On Chill New Track “Boo You Know”

GoldLink Falcons

Falcons and GoldLink have teamed up for a third time on their newest collaboration “Boo You Know.” Their previous tracks together “Vroom” and “Aquafina” have garnered millions of plays on SoundCloud. “Boo You Know,” the duo’s second release on A-Trak’s Fool’s Gold Records, is a huge follow up to their past collaborations.

The track starts off with sample “Boo you know I love you” from Cuban Link’s song “Still Tellin’ Lies,” which repeats throughout. Falcons’ signature future bass meets hip-hop production is distinct as massive chords reverberate in the background creating a unique ambience for GoldLink’s vocals. In between samples, GoldLink raps about his many long-distance relationships, from Toronto to New Orleans.

GoldLink’s casual flow makes the perfect fit for Falcons’ chill atmosphere, which is maintained with gliding synth notes. Double-time drums come in shortly before the outro before bringing back the arrangement from the beginning. “Boo You Know” is a funky addition to Falcons and GoldLink’s repertoire that is sure to make its way to all your relaxing, poolside parties this summer. Enjoy!
