Gorgon City Drops Long Awaited Sophomore Album 'Escape'

cover art

Fans of Gorgon City have been waiting patiently over the last few years for the drop of another studio album from the English house duo. There’s certainly been some quality tunes from Gorgon City in the meantime, such as their Grooves On The Vinyl EP, but the wait for the next album is over. Escape is finally here.

Escape is a total of 12 tracks long, with a different vocalist featured on each track (except for Naations, who is featured twice). The album marks their official return to their deeper sound after dipping into the tech house realm for a bit.

The majority of Escape is classic deep house: powerful vocals, striking chords, and an undeniable four-to-the-floor groove. Gorgon City also play around with some breakbeat rhythms on the album too, keeping things fresh.

Each track sounds very radio friendly, so you could be hearing some of these on the air soon! Stream Escape in its entirety below and enjoy!

Gorgon City have done it again. The powerhouse house duo just dropped a new single “Hear That” and it’s definitely a slapper. This time they’ve linked up with UK Grime staple D Double E and their sounds combine effortlessly on the infectious deep house meets grime track. Gorgon City’s production is top-notch here as the bouncing bassline combines with spaces synths while D Double E’s verses bring everything together in the best way possible. Dirtybird Campout Announces Solid Lineup For 2018 West Coast Edition

dbc

Dirtybird’s bi-annual, summer camp themed, boutique music festival, Dirtybird Campout, has just announced their lineup for their West Coast edition this year. The lineup features over 50 different artists, with some bigger names than we’re used to seeing on a DBC lineup like: Gorgon City, Chris Lake, and Mark Ronson.

Of course, the Dirtybird crew will be in full force, bringing out the cream of their crop with Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin, Fisher, Walker & Royce, Shiba San, OMNOM, Catz ‘N Dogz, and more. And as always, there’s a couple wildcards thrown into the mix that you wouldn’t necessarily expect to see at a house music festival. Old school rappers Big Daddy Kane and Slick Rick will be performing this year, which I don't think anyone saw coming.

The festival is to take place from October 5-7, in another brand new location in Northern California: the Modesto Reservoir Campgrounds. Attendees can expect a number of improvements to the festival with the new location, including reservoir water for swimming in, a setting full of shady trees and irrigated land, and a more intimate layout in general.

Check out the full lineup below, and follow this link for more information.
