One of rap’s most enigmatic artists, Spark Master Tape, has finally returned with his third full-length project Silhouette Of A Sunkken City!

The mysteriously elusive artist raps from the perspective of a comic book villain type of character boasting a life of crime while using entirely pitched down vocals. After amassing a cult-like following in wake of his first two incredible mixtapes, he abruptly went rogue leaving fans anxiously awaiting any news. Now he’s finally returned and delivered some long-awaited new music. For those unfamiliar, check out our Spark Master Tape catch up guide

Spark Master Tape's ambitious third project Silhouette Of A Sunkken City is his longest to date spanning 22 tracks, and once again delivers his dark aesthetic and distinct sound.

The booming production on Spark Master Tape’s music is equally as important to his sound as his rapping is, and this is very apparent on the new project. His sole producer and right-hand-man Paper Platoon delivers a cohesive sound throughout the album capturing both menacing and soulful moods with each track sounding different from the last.

The 22 track album is filled with mostly short, spastic tracks with a couple interludes and multiple production focused tracks setting the stage for the project’s doomsday-like concept. The trappy hip-hop meets hard hitting, experimental electronic production brings sample-littered instrumentals with many beat switches contrasting dark aesthetic with uplifting samples and instrumentation making for a uniquely interesting listen.

Spark’s swaggy flows are gritty and compelling as he often teases short, frantic raps before going in hard on verses dropping in and out atop the frequent beat switches while rapping from the perspective of an ominous, sex & drug fueled rap persona.

While “Tenkkeys” is the project’s most complete and refined track, SOASC is entirely filled with must-hear songs including standout tracks “WAKKEBOI," "Livin' Lavish,” “Run Em Dry,” “Goin’ Robbin’” and “Swoup In The Whip” being just a handful of our favorites. Although this album bangs from start to finish, it’s not your typical listen… so gear up and get ready to be SWOUP’d.

During quite the eventful Coachella weekend it seems like more guests may have been brought out the second weekend this year.

Anderson .Paak has quickly become a favorite artist on the rise through his breakout album along with an endless spree of unbelievable features on new songs just about every other week like he's done with Snakehips and Kaytranada amongst many many more.

Well last night, he managed to cement his exponential rise by filling the duties of Coachella and bringing out some very special guests. During his week 2 performance, Anderson did not disappoint as he brought out 2 of the most influential figures in all of hip-hop. He first brought out Kendrick Lamar to deliver a quick, high energy performance of his hit "Backstreet Freestyle" with .Paak rapping lines along with Kendrick. Shortly after, he brought out Dr. Dre who just performed the night earlier in the first reunion of NWA in 17 years on the main stage. The two performed Dre's classics "Next Episode," "Still D.R.E." and "California Love,"

If Anderson .Paak is coming through to any city near you, do yourself a favor and watch his very exciting show. Watch the clips of both performances below and see a teaser for a full documentary on the way. Enjoy!

Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y have celebrated 420 with a belated gift to the world by releasing a new collaborative song the day after the holiday to let everyone reflect year round.

"Change" packs a signature chilled out beat that both rappers know how to work with so well, and has both rappers laying down smooth, drawn out weed inspired lyrics. The two have done a lot of work together like on the How Fly project back in 2009, yet have been building hype for a new work hysterically called 2009 that's set for a release sometime this year, hopefully early summer. Listen to the track below and enjoy!
