PREMIERE | Newcomer j ember Makes TSIS Debut On Psychedelic Indie Song "Parallel"

j.ember parallel

Today we have the pleasure of introducing a talented new artist j ember to the site with the infectious premiere of “Parallel” that we’re surely going to have on repeat. The talented Canadian artist brings a dreamy sound that captures us at the first note and we’re excited to see where he goes from here.

With 'Parallel,' the goal was to create a song that combined a Jimi Hendrix influenced psychedelic rock sound with modern hip-hop production. I got together with Jeff Hazin, Matt Kahane, Tim North, and Quin Kiu to make this record.  - j. mber

The psychedelic indie rock vibe brings a sound that any Tame Impala or Yellow Days fan will instantly love. He expertly blends his smooth guitar licks with mellow lo-fi production, crisp instrumentaion and catchy vocals making him someone we’re going to have an eye on this year. Stay tuned for more and enjoy!

PREMIERE | Newcomer Indie Duo Nightseason Brings Summer Vibes On Soothing Debut Track "Nothing Calms My Mind"

Nightseason nothing calms my mind

Here at TSIS we get excited whenever we hear talented new artists across different genres and are stoked premiere the debut track “Nothing Calms My Mind” from indie-rock newcomers Nightseason. Nightseason is a fresh new project combining the hip-hop percussion talents of Patrick Zeinali with the howling rock vocals of Jordan Caiola, who has racked up millions of plays as a part of alt-rock band Mo Lowda & The Humble. The result is a warm indie sound that packs a punch.

“Nothing Calms My Mind” grabs the listener’s attention from the start with a shimmering electronic synth that collapses into crisp drumbeat with rich vocals layered on top. A guitar melody gently plucks in the background, taking the occasional pause to let Jordan’s vocals shine. Sweeping, oscillating synths reappear throughout the track, adding to the track’s unique aesthetic.

Keep an eye out for much more from Nightseason this year. Enjoy!

NoMBe Delivers Amazing Debut Album 'They Might've Even Loved Me' Blending Soul, Rock, Blues, Electronic

nombe they might have even loved me

After months of receiving incredible singles from NoMBe, his album They Might've Even Loved Me has arrived in its' entirety and it's just what we wanted from the talented rising artist.

Based in LA, NoMBe planned to release this album “single by single, month-to month, until he ran out of love songs”. And he did just that. Some of our favorites included “Summer’s Gone”, “Do Whatchu Want To Me” and “Wait”. Now that the whole package is here, it is clear that the album is an ode to the female figures that have affected his life. From his mother and godmother, to his high school crush and girlfriend – NoMBe’s project is a "tribute to femininity, honoring female wisdom, power and knowledge."

Composed of 18 tracks, “They Might’ve Even Loved Me” features three brand new songs: “Man Up”, “Milk & Coffee” and “Sex On Drugs”, a new accent track “Rush’s Interlude” and a new short narrative “Sex – Intro Poem”. The 13 other tracks were the previously released singles.

This is NoMBe’s debut album and it is timeless with guitar-driven sounds that glide effortlessly through electronic pop, soul, blues, funk and contemporary indie rock. The instrumentation and songwriting are as impressive as his vocals as NoMBe shows he's really the full package. Enjoy!
