On top of grabbing Grammy nominations for both Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance, J Cole also dropped a new mixtape today alongside the crew of his record label Dreamville. J Cole is really closing out the year strong following the release of “Black Friday,” in which he and Kendrick Lamar rapped over each other’s beats further hinting at their forthcoming collaborative album. Not to mention the recent announcment that he has an HBO documentary coming for his Forest Hills Drive tour.

As a follow up to Dreamville’s 2014 collaborative album, Revenge of the Dreamers II is a 9 track project bringing 3 new tunes from J. Cole himself and songs with Dreamville artists Bas, Cozz, Omen, and new signees Ari Lennox & Lute in addition to features from Correy C and Donnie Trumpet. The collaborative album was dropped following cryptic tweets this weekend from the Dreamville crew with the phone number 1-888-88-DREAM, which was on the album art for last year’s album. This new project showcases the record label's talent and is available to download via iTunes and to stream below. Enjoy!

Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole have both been teasing a future collaborative project for years now, and have left their respecitve fanbases impatiently awaiting any official confirmation or release date, or anything. Now we have reason to hope this album is coming sooner than we imagined.

Further increasing the hype of their collaborative album, J Cole has just released a track titled “Black Friday” rapping over Kendrick’s hit “Alright” while Kendrick also released a new track “Black Friday” rapping over J Cole’s “ A Tale of 2 Citiez.” Kendrick takes a step back from the jazz style we heard on his 2015 album To Pimp A Butterfly and hits home with some impressive bars only Kdot can deliver while J Cole offers his always on-point verses. Now that these two artists are riding the wave of success following their critically acclaimed albums we hope they have time to work on their joint project we’ve all been waiting for.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of A Tribe Called Quest’s debut album People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm, they’ve unveiled J Cole’s remix of “Can I Kick it?” as a bonus track off the album’s reissue. The reissued album version also includes a Cee Lo Green remix of “Footprints” and a Pharrell Williams remix of “Bonita Applebum,” and will be released 11/13.

J Cole’s platinum selling 2014 Forest Hills Drive solidified him as one of NYC’s most promising hip hop talents, and he’s stayed quiet since its release last December. Cole's self-produced instrumentals turned heads as he showed he can craft a beat just about as well as he can put together a verse. J Cole’s remix doesn’t offer a new verse, but leaves the classic verses intact while delivering a smooth, laid back variant of the instrumental bringing a new spin on a classic hip hop track.
