Major Lazer's "Cold Water" Receives Trap Remix From Boombox Cartel

Major Lazer Press Shot

It's been a busy month for Boombox Cartel. The Los Angeles duo recently announced that they've signed to Diplo's Mad Decent imprint and yesterday, dropped a brand new collaboration with QUIX called "Supernatural".  On top of that, they just released their official remix of Major Lazer's summer hit, "Cold Water" feat. Justin Bieber and .

The production kicks off with a hollow house-inspired bass line that's overlaid with rich piano chords, but quickly pivots to a darker, aggressive tone in the build. Listeners are soon thrusted into a heavy trap drop filled with deep brass notes, tom drum hits and grinding synths. However, the mood lightens in the second drop with an uplifting future bass progression. Stream Boombox Cartel's remix below and enjoy!

JAUZ Shares Future House Remix of DJ Snake’s “Propaganda” To Launch Shark Week [Free Download]

Beyond being known for always rocking a cool pair of shades, DJ Snake has established himself a crossover hitmaker. In early May, the globetrotting star humbly enlightened his fans via Twitter that his past five singles have all been certified platinum by the RIAA. This elite grouping includes "Middle" which makes the cut on Encore. His newest single, "Talk" feat. George Maple, also makes the final list.

The album itself is proudly diverse in style and sports a number of unexpected collaborators, one of which is rising Albanian rapper G4SHI who lands himself on two of the 14 tracks -- "Oh Me Oh My" and "4 Life".  DJ Snake also enlists British musician Mr Hudson whose most recently cited work is co-producing Duran Duran's Paper Gods album.

Encore is out now on Interscope Records and can be streamed below. Enjoy!

Lido Surprises Fans With 3 Remixes: GoldLink, Justin Bieber & THEY.

Lido Justin Bieber They. Goldlink

Sometimes it better to start with a clean slate, right? Well, that's exactly what Lido did this afternoon (Aug. 3). The Norwegian artist wiped his Soundcloud profile dry of his catalogue and then uploaded three new songs to the page. Let's begin with his funky cover of Justin Bieber's hit single "Sorry". He, along with Heavy Mellow, Santell and Brasstracks crafted a soulful sax-filled rendition of the pop record. Something tells us it was put together at a BBQ in Los Angeles...check it below.

In the words of Jay Z, onto the next one. Lido and Santell (on the vocals) have collectively tackled "Back It Up" off of THEY.'s Nu-Religion EP. While the original version holds down moody and rather hypnotic undertones, this "passion flip" imports a refreshing gospel vibe.

THEY. - Back It Up (Passion Flip)

Last but not least we have Lido's groovy spin on "Sober Thoughts" by GoldLink. This song is not meant for walking. It's meant for strutting. Lido has yet to publicly comment on this grouping of releases at time of the publishing. Keep an eye on his Soundcloud. Something tells us we're in a for big announcement.
