Lane 8 Does Not Disappoint On New Deep House Track “The Disappearance Of Colonel Mustard”

lane 8

It seems like we just finally got finished with a full listen through Lane 8’s 5-hour, masterful Summer 2018 Mixtape, and he’s already got new music for us. His last release was an amazingly tranquil two track EP in collaboration with Anderholm and Khåen, but this new release is much different. The new track is titled “The Disappearance Of Colonel Mustard,” and it’s pure deep house heat.

Most of Lane 8’s recent music has been the kind of stuff you could meditate to for hours straight, but “The Disappearance Of Colonel Mustard” is designed for a club setting. The tune still retains Lane 8’s dreamy melodies, which we expected, but the bassline comes in hard, and caught us totally off guard.

During the second half, the track builds up a tremendous amount of energy and then proceeds to drop even harder, with Lane 8 introducing a new, gritty, distorted synth that would send any dancefloor into a frenzy.

We’re seriously digging this fresh upbeat sounding track from Lane 8, and we think you will too. Stream “The Disappearance Of Colonel Mustard” below and enjoy!

Lane 8 has really outdone himself here. Having covered his Winter 2016 MixtapeSpring 2018 Mixtape and his debut BBS Essential Mix, it is evident that Lane 8’s mixes have always resonated with the TSIS camp. So today, when he uploaded his ‘Summer 2018 Mixtape’ it is safe to say we were eager to listen. But it wasn’t until we looked at the duration that we were blown away. Over 5 hours?! For Real? I don’t know if we’ve ever covered a mix this long. But we're down.

The amazing part is that you can easily listen through the entire mix and not get bored. With many ID’s, it seems we have a lot to look forward to from Lane 8; The man with the most chill house music in the game. Enjoy!

Lane 8 Returns With Impressive Two Song Collab EP

lane 8

It is common for artists to stay quiet shortly after dropping a full-length album, taking time decompress, re-energize and eventually get back in the studio. Or, you can be like Lane 8 and do the exact opposite. Since the release of his sophomore album “Little By Little” in January, the dude hasn’t stopped delivering. This includes a 3-hour ‘Spring Mixtape 2018’ mix, his debut BBC Essential Mix and a collaborative single “Let Me” which is featured on his record label’s ‘Root To Branch Vol. 2’ compilation. Now today, Lane 8 has returned with an untitled collab EP. The offering contains two songs; “Bluebird” made in collaboration with Anderholm and “Duchess” made in collaboration with Khåen.

In typical Lane 8 fashion, both cuts are elaborate house tracks that progress with emotional chords and dramatic synths. Both Anderholm and Khåen were featured on ‘Root to Branch, Vol. 1’ compilation as both of their sounds fit within the This Never Happened brand perfectly. Enjoy!
