Louis Futon & Medasin Share Completed Flip Of Travis Scott’s “Wake Up”

A couple weeks ago we shared a really dope video of Louis Futon working on his latest beat flip with another one of our favorite artists, Medasin. We got to see a glimpse into the process behind the collaboration, and now the full version has been officially uploaded to SoundCloud so we all can enjoy the final product of their fire remix of Travis Scott’s “Wake Up.”

It looks like the pair kept almost every element of the track that we got to see them create in the video and it's sounding even better than we hoped. There’s also a few more parts that we’re added that we didn’t get to see, and the whole thing is sounding great!

Stream the full remix below and enjoy!

Also, if you enjoyed this flip by Louis Futon and Medasin, definitely check out some of the other flips Louis Futon has done (he’s crushed them all) like: J. Cole’s “Kevin’s Heart,” SZA’s “Love Galore” and the Stranger Things soundtrack.

TSIS favorite Louis Futon is undoubtedly a production wizard. For those of you unfamiliar, he has a running “beat challenge” series where he asks fans to recommend songs for him to flip, and he recreates them entirely. His most recent flips include J. Cole’s “Kevin’s Heart,” SZA’s “Love Galore” and the Stranger Things soundtrack.

This time around he’s joined by his “best friend” and fellow TSIS favorite Medasin, who is also an insanely talented producer as the two form a super duo. For their collaborative beat challenge, the two artists have taken on Travis Scott & The Weeknd’s recent collab “Wake Up” off Astroworld

They take us through the process step by step from making an acapella, add keys, drums, bass guitar and some signature bouncing Medasin flavor. They maintain The Weeknd’s catchy falsetto vocals while recreating the instrumental from the ground up and we’re loving it. Both Louis Futon and Medasin add their own touch to the flip with some amazing chemistry that has us hoping they work together again down the road. See the video below and stay tuned for hopefully a full upload of the collab. Enjoy!

Medasin Shines On Must Hear, Dreamy New 9-Track Album 'Irene'

Irene medasin

Since first introduced to TSIS in early 2016, Dallas producer Medasin has quickly become one of the most sought-after producers in electronic music. His ability to re-imagine other artist’s work into a fresh idea is unparalleled; An ability that has landed him official remixes for the likes of DJ Khaled and Portugal. The Man. Aside from his numerous impressive remixes, Medasin has also displayed a talent for creating unique originals. Previous singles such as “Daydream” and “Forever”, his collaborative track with EKALI, showcase the rising producer’s unique vision.

Today is a big day for Medasin as he dropped his highly anticipated Irene album; His debut solo packaged offering (He released The Pink Polo EP in 2016 with Masego - absolutely worth the listen). This album is not the first appearance of the Irene project. In January, Medasin uploaded a half-an-hour mix to SoundCloud titled ‘Irene’. He took to twitter to announce the project and stated “…a lot of these tracks have vocals that are being worked on for the later more official project. I removed all of the vocals cause I wanted this to be solely Medasin instrumental experience.” Well, the ‘more official’ project is here in all of its’ glory, and it is everything we could have hope for…

Composed of nine tracks, Irene is dreamy and innovative. Two of the cuts received proper vocal features; “Work For You” with Kaz Moon and “Tired” with, the always reliable, Sophie Meiers. Built upon his buoyant sound with inviting synths and standout percussion, Irene is a testament of Medasin’s highly developed production capabilities and a foretell of his forthcoming success. Enjoy!
