Medasin Shares Chilled Out Dreamy Remix Of Joji's "Will He"

Joji Medasin remix

TSIS favorite Medasin has been turning out top notch remixes and originals for years now and shows no signs of slowing down. Most recently remixing DJ Khaled and Portugal. The Man, Medasin has forged a amazingly unique sound, never releasing a track until it is unequivocally his. The quickly rising artist's latest installment is a masterfully subdued remix of Joji’s "Will He." Joji, Filthy Franks / Pink Guy's more serious musical moniker, has carefully avoided the laughs, putting out sincere music with undeniable melancholy overtones making Medasin the perfect pairing to take on a remix.

The one thing that we have learned to expect from every Medasin remix is that song is going to be 100% his own, by stripping down the original and reconstructing it in an entirely new way. This song is no exception. The occasional sound of a gun cocking, light piano and heavy snare are used to structure the song, carrying the heavily sedated vocals and subdued synth stabs across an island-like soundscape. Listen to the track below and enjoy!

Medasin Delivers Forward-Thinking Guest Mix On Triple J

Medasin Triple J

Medasin has graced us today with the mix he recently did for Australian radio station Triple J. The Dallas-based producer has clearly been at work since his recent remix of DJ Khaled, Rihanna, and Bryson Tiller’s hit “Wild Thoughts.” He’s made sure to include a handful of his unreleased tracks as well as some of his favorites in this mix.

Got the opportunity to stop by triple J HQ in Sydney recently and do a short mix of some of my all time favs, and some of what ive been listening to lately + a couple unreleased ideas i've had laying around for a while that will likely never see the light of day. – Medasin

The mix includes releases from other forward-thinking acts such as Galimatias, Louis The Child, Sam Gellaitry, and more. What’s really special about his Triple J mix, however, are the three ID’s Medasin has included. The first of these is a stripped-down, atmospheric collaboration with whereisalex. The next unreleased track comes after “Daydream,” his soulful collaboration with BROCKHAMPTON member JOBA we premiered last year. This ID is a bright and bouncy tune with melodic chords and a bubbly lead. Medasin’s final ID makes for the perfect outro with a cinematic landscape complete with swelling pads and nostalgic chimes. Check out the mix and full tracklist below and enjoy!

Medasin Shares Refreshing Future Bass Remix Of DJ Khaled’s “Wild Thoughts” Feat. Rihanna & Bryson Tiller

Medasin Khaled

Medasin is back with yet another fresh new remix! The talented young producer has become a familiar face on TSIS with his experimental remix work, his most recent being a chill take on Portugal. The Man’s “Feel It Still.” Today he shared his take on one of the biggest songs of the summer, DJ Khaled’s “Wild Thoughts” feat. Rihanna and Bryson Tiller.

The original version of this track already presented an interesting blend of styles, heavily sampling from Carlos Santana’s Latin pop song “Maria Maria.” Instead of stick with that vibe, though, Medasin has completely turned the track on its head with a fusion of hip-hop and electronic genres. He strips “Wild Thoughts” down to the bare vocals, building the production back up with lush synth melodies, tropical percussion and crisp vocal edits. Most impressive is the track’s innovative future bass drop that will no doubt grip you when you hear it. Check out the exciting remix below and enjoy!
