PREMIERE | NGHTMRE’s Heavy Trap Remix Of ZHU & Ekali’s “Blame” Takes It To The Next Level

NGHTMRE has blown us away with yet another release, this time a heavy remix of Ekali & ZHU’s intense collaboration “Blame”. We first heard this banger of a remix on Ekali’s latest star-studded Awakening mix, and we’re excited to bring you the official release today via OWSLA. NGHTMRE has been delivering tons of quality content recently, from his experimental collaboration with Dillon Francis “Another Dimension” to his two brand new mixes on DEADBEATS RADIO and Diplo & Friends. Ekali and ZHU haven’t been idle, either, both are sitting on monster collaborations - Ekali with Slander, and ZHU with Tame Impala coming soon.

NGHTMRE’s take on “Blame” does due justice to the original while taking it in a heavy, distinctly NGHTMRE direction. The track begins with a catchy vocal chop of ZHU’s addicting vocals that re-emerge during the buildup to add a melodic element to an otherwise dark instrumental. The drop features satisfying horn hits and intense trap elements that occasionally pause to give room to rapid-fire synths taken directly from the original track. Stick around for the second drop and you won’t be disappointed, NGHTMRE strips it down to the bare essentials and hits even harder. See NGHTMRE's tour dates below and enjoy!

Listen To NGHTMRE's Heavy Unreleased Remix Of Ekali & ZHU's "Blame"

Each of Ekali’s Awakening mixes are full of gems, and his latest is no different. With multiple Ekali edits and unreleased tracks, one that stood out to us was the NGHTMRE remix of Ekali & ZHU’s next level recent collaboration “Blame.”

Ekali works the NGHTMRE edit into his original starting at 33:39 and it really takes off during the drop. NGHTMRE incorporates parts of the original while making it own with his new percussion, a re-worked, hard-hitting experimental trap drop that takes everything to a new level before lush synths and bright vocal chops kick in. We’re not sure if or when this version is seeing a release date but we really hope it’s soon. Stay tuned for more and enjoy!
