Watch Louis Futon & Party Pupils Create A Beat Using Samples Created At IKEA

futon

It's been over a year since Louis Futon started posting videos for his "beat challenge" series, and so far we can confidently say it's been wildly successful. He's churned up some of his best beats through these fun videos, and he's just posted another.

This time, Louis Futon has teamed up with one of the members of Party Pupils to make a beat. The challenge? They both have to use sampled sounds that they got from IKEA. The pair went around the Swedish furniture store and made chords out of a barcode scanner, drums out of banging random things together, and another synth from blowing into a vase. They then fleshed the rest of the track out with some live instrumentation and singing.

The end result is a beautifully funky track that will make you want to jump up out of your seat and dance. The unnamed track hasn't been uploaded in full yet, but based on his last beat challenge videos, it should be up soon. For now, take a look at the video of Louis Futon, Party Pupils, and friends creating this awesome bit of music below. Enjoy!

Party Pupils Share Funky New Single “Sax On The Beach” Ft. Big Gigantic’s Dominic Lalli

Although it isn’t officially summer quite yet, Party Pupils are absolutely bringing the laidback vibes of the season with their newest single. Composed of the dynamite vocalist/production duo of MAX and RyanEXOE, these two have been on a steady climb over the past couple years with refreshing originals such as “Patient” and “Over & Under” as well as ridiculously funky remixes of songs like “Feels Great” and “Broccoli.” Today’s single, “Sax On The Beach,” is yet another supercharged future funk track that features a familiar face: Dominic Lalli of Big Gigantic on the saxophone.

Both cheeky and skillfully composed, “Sax On The Beach” is a fitting soundtrack heading into the weekend and the summer as a whole. The track is jampacked with the shimmering progressions and upbeat percussion that we’ve come to love from Party Pupils, with Lalli ’s seductively smooth saxophone riffs bringing a fresh new dimension. As if that wasn’t enough, an official video is coming in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, grab tickets for Party Pupils’ upcoming shows at Electric Forest Weekend 1 and Weekend 2 and at Red Rocks for Big Gigantic’s Rowdytown VII that we have the pleasure of presenting. Stream “Sax On The Beach,” out now on Dim Mak, below and enjoy!

PREMIERE | Party Pupils Share Catchy Modern Spin On Classic 90's Tune “This Is How We Do It” Ft. Audien

party pupils audien

Party Pupils are an impressive production / vocalist duo who have been pushing the "future funk" genre forward and have impressed us time and time again. Just over a year ago, the duo crushed their rendition of Outkast’s “Ms. Jackson”, amassing millions upon millions of streams on Spotify and SoundCloud, establishing themselves as go-to artists for future funk. Future funk has all the elements that you would recognize in a future-bass track, but with quicker, groovier feel than you would expect. They started rolling out original tracks like "Over & Under" and "Patient" building on their unique sound we already love.

Party Pupils’ latest track is a modern spin on Montell Jordan’s classic 90’s throwback “This Is How We Do It” that we're excited to be premiering on TSIS. For this tune, the duo is accompanied by their vocalist MAX's past collaborator Audien, who proved to be the perfect match for their funky sound. The result of this collaboration is a buzzing party-starter that's already sounding like a hit.
