Dynamic electronic artist Ghastly recently announced the completion of his debut album The Mystifying Oracle and today we're excited to be premiering “LSD”, the first song off of the project. We can't wait for the full LP, which is promised to deliver on a versatile blend of house, trap, and Ghastly’s own unique brand of electronica he likes to term “pretty sh*t”.
“LSD” is a vibrant, energetic track that deftly combines retro vibes with cutting edge future bass production. The cinematic buildup layers melodic, full bass tones with chopped up kicks and an attention-grabbing lead synth that wouldn’t sound out of place in a video game soundtrack. The drop is a colorful explosion of energy that hits the listener over and over again with an expertly produced wall of melodic bass.
Ghastly has announced a 25-date nationwide tour with brand new stage production and retro horror film aesthetic. Grab tickets here and give his 2018 Holy Ship set a listen to get an early taste of his performance. Enjoy!
We're only a few days into the new year, but long time supported trap specialist Herobust already has big plans in store. The Atlanta-based artist tweeted yesterday (Jan. 3) that he has a new EP and tour on the way! TSIS has the pleasure of premiering his first single of 2017, "Vertebreaker", and it's title reflects how hard it goes.
The production boasts a rigid structure that's powered by glass breaking samples, hard-hitting bass kicks and forceful horns. The vocal on the track is actually recorded by Herobust himself. "Vertebreaker" is a relentless trap banger that leaves us incredibly excited for what else he has planned this year. He says the following about the track and upcoming EP:
"People know the BUSTED sound by now. It's going to be hard. It's going to be weird, and it's going to have that dirty south swag. My new EP, Vertebreaker, features all these elements, but it takes the hip-hop aspect to a whole new level. I'm rapping and singing more than ever before. Some songs play like EDM bangers, while others have a straight up rap vibe. I'm so proud of the result and I can't wait to share these tunes with y'all."
In 2016, he dropped his game-changing I'm Aloud EP, along with a string of heavy releases like "No Time" with LAXX and a remix of Knife Party's "Destroy Them With Lazers". Stream the premiere of "Vertebreaker" and a list of his upcoming tour dates below. Enjoy!

The wait for Getter's EP is finally over! Wat The Frick has finally arrived on OWSLA and taps into everything from his classic dubstep sound to other styles like future bass and hip-hop, making it his biggest release of work to date. Interestingly enough, the LA producer excludes his "Wat The Frick" single from the EP but cues the seven-track collection with a VIP mix of the original song.
The opening 8-bit sequence is replaced with a gospel choir singing in a minor key that eerily contrasts the production's haunting lead melody. Soon enough, listeners are immersed in organized dubstep chaos comprised of punches and growls. The VIP mix is a hard track to follow but meets its moombah-trap counterpart, "Hecka Tight", batting second. The production is spiked with crisp drums, siren samples and processed vocals that swiftly appear in low and high pitched bursts.
Getter slows things down with "Fricken Dope", an equally intense bass gem that unleashes flawless vocal chops in automatic fashion during the drop. If that wasn't dope enough, he switches things up again with "Cool As Frick". The track showcases steely, hard elements that have a futuristic feel to them.
"Sick Jet Pack Bro" may have the most space-like soundscape of them all, though. Imagine aliens conversing on a spaceship while pressing away at a plethora of buttons they shouldn't be pushing. Now add a rippling, hollow synth that sporadically releases gusts of air. Now think back to the title and it all makes sense. The imagery is incredibly vivid.
Outside of the bass realm, Getter flexes his seasoned hip-hop production skills with frequent collaborator $uicideBoy$ on "2 High". While it is the only hip-hop production on the EP, the track's ominous, ambient pads and distorted vocals sync up with the project's cohesive sonic theme. Last but not least is the collection's sole future bass cut, "Something New", which imports beachside elements alongside a laid-back sequence of warm synths, splattering snares and a flute-based melody.
As a whole, Getter's Wat The Frick EP is stunningly diverse and engages its listeners in a multitude of settings, whether it be melancholy and dark or lively and bright. The project's titling also coincides with the branding of his stacked North American fall tour kicking off Sept. 6 in Toronto. The culmination of it all leads up to believe that the DJ/producer/entertainer is undoubtedly at the top of his game. Stream the seven-track project exclusively on TSIS and be sure to take a look at the dates of his upcoming North American Wat The Frick tour . Enjoy!
