Diplo & DRAM Share Stunning New Soul / Rock Inspired Song "Look Back"

Diplo DRAM Look Back

Diplo has been an a roll with his sick collaborations and has dope it again. This time around he’s linked up with DRAM on a soulful slow jam "Look Back” that's not at all what we would expect to hear after seeing that these two linked up on a new song.

DRAM's playful raps has been something we look forward to with each and every release, but what we did not expect was for him and Diplo to go for a full blown powerful ballad backed by a guitar-focused instrumental. The production uses hard-hitting drums and refreshing instrumentation laying the foundation for DRAM to shine.

This sounds more like a song that Alabama Shakes would make than Diplo in 2018 and caught us off gaurd like Childish Gambino's last album did when he started rolling out singles. While this isn't at all what we saw coming, we're loving it. Jimmy Fallon also said Diplo has an upcoming EP called California, so stay tuned for more Diplo on the way. DRAM shared the story of how the song came about with him and Diplo having a studio session in Post Malone's studio and finishing it up with Skrillex present in the stuido and Tinashe joining on backing vocals - see the story below. DRAM also shared the news that he and Erykah Badu's project is very much real so we can't wait to hear that one as well. Enjoy!

TDE's Latest Signee SiR Drops Extra Soulful Debut Album : Hip-Hop / Soul

SiR November Debut Album

Top Dawg Entertainment’s newest (and most soulful) artist SiR just dropped his must hear debut studio album November and it’s sounding amazing. This is the latest TDE signee’s first project singe joining the likes of Kendrick Lamar, SZA, ScHoolboy Q, Isaiah Rashad, Jay Rock and Ab-Soul on arguably the most prestigious label in hip-hop right now.

SiR is full of soul. The talented singer and rapper has a smooth voice that just effortlessly glides over any type of production. The full project finds a chill sound throughout, with some songs utilizing pianos and he even experiments with some auto-tune on “I Know” showing his versatility. He shines on the slow jams, bringing some amazing diversity to what was already our favorite label in hip-hop. We can’t wait to see where SiR goes from here, but for now… enjoy!

Watch Childish Gambino's Must See Live Performance of "Redbone" on Fallon

Childish Gambino Redbone Live

Childish Gambino continues to blow us away with his new music. Now he’s done an incredible live performance of his album single “Redbone” on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

His new album Awaken, My Love took a new direction as we heard Childish abandon his rapping for an album filled with funk and soul reminiscent of the 70’s. He went on record saying he didn’t use any vocal pitching on the album and it’s amazing to see him perform “Redbone” without any vocal effects as he uses his voice like an elastic instrument. He nails the performance alongside a full band and has us hoping he goes on tour for the album. He recently shared a VR video of his “Me And Your Mama” single from his wild PHAROS concerts in Joshua Tree and once again he shows how well his new music translates to a live performance. Enjoy!
