Watch Brasstracks & The Underachievers Recreate "Improv #1" Live In Studio With 14 Musicians

brasstracks 2018

Brasstracks have been a favorite of ours for a couple years and just went up another notch. The jazzy duo just formed a sort of big band sharing an amazing studio session featuring 14 musicians playing a new live rendition of their song “Improv #1 (Intro)" featuring Robert Glasper and The Underachievers.

The result is amazing. Putting that many skilled musicians in a room together to re-create the song made for a special performance of their already great song. They all came together in Brooklyn’s Studio G linking up with The Underachievers to play their EP single ahead of their first headline tour. Check out the video below and enjoy!

Brooklyn-Based duo Brasstracks have been rolling out their anticipated new EP and now it’s here in full. The 6-track project brings on an versatile group of guest artists including The Underachievers, Robert Glasper, BXRBER, Fatherdude & S’natra.

We’ve previously heard singles “Those Who Know” and “Brownstone” featuring BXRBER, and they build off these strong singles with a project that’s impressive from start to finish. As always, Brasstracks bring the funk and soul as they really do an incredible job at creating the perfect match between their instrumentals and the colalborators on each song. They prove to be a natural fit with fellow NYC rap group The Underachievers while also having an equal chemistry with the incredible pianist Robert Glasper. The brooklyn-based due comprising of Issa Gold and AKTHESAVIOR had an impressive string of singles leading up the the full LP including “Gotham Nights” and “Cobra Clutch.” The laid-back production carries a soulful vibe throughout incorporating some darker productions as well as brighter sounding tracks utilizing live instrumentation in the beat.
