The Weeknd

PREMIERE | The Weeknd's "Wasted Times" Is Given Dark Trap / Future Bass Remix By Antra

the weeknd wasted times antra

Today we have the pleasure of introducing a new artist Antra to the site through the premiere of his remix taking on The Weeknd’s “Wasted Times.” The original track appeared on The Weeknd’s recent album titled My Dear Melancholy that heard him return to his dark, moody roots we love so much and now one of the standout tracks has received the dark trap / future bass hybrid remix we didn’t even know we needed.

Now the song has been flipped on its head and sounds entirely different. The 24-year-old LA-based artist has entirely re-imagined the original, building dark new production from the ground up. He adds a gritty bassline, thumping 808s, skittering hi-hats and a drop with slight horn jabs and shimmering synths that bring it all together effortlessly while distorting the original vocals. Enjoy!

Watch Behind The Scenes Footage Of The Weeknd In New Video "He Was Never There"

The Weeknd he was never there

The Weeknd just surprised with his new 6-track My Dear Melancholy project and has now shared the visuals to go along with one of the songs “I Was Never There.”  The video features some home footage of Abel’s studio sessions showing what went down during the recording of his new project. The video was directed Joachim Johnson and takes a different direction from his most recent videos that saw him go in the direction of movie-quality videos while this new one is more of a home video vibe. Enjoy!

the weeknd album

The Weeknd just dropped a full new project! His last album STARBOY came in the fall of 2016 and he’s surprised us all with a full new project titled My Dear Melancholy returning to his roots. The production credits are insane... Skrillex, Guy Manuel De Homem Christo (of Daft Punk), Mike Will Made-It,  Gessafelstein, Nicolas Jaar, Frank Dukes and more.

Since his Trilogy series in 2011, Abel has explored different sounds and gives his day one fans something special with this one. We weren't fully sure what to expect when we saw there was a new project... but The Weeknd and Gesaffelstein was certainly something we did not see coming. See the iTunes description for the project below.

For now you can download the project below on iTunes and listen on Apple Music and we'll update the post with Spotify once it's available. Enjoy!
