Watch Mac Miller Perform Songs From New Album 'Swimming' For NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert

mac tiny desk

Mac Miller dropped his fifth studio album, Swimming, on Friday (alongside a couple other great album drops), and we've been listening to it all weekend. Mac kept the ball rolling today, sharing his performance at one of our favorite segments, NPR's Tiny Desk Concert

Mac sits upfront on a stool during the performance, with many different, very talented musicians positioned behind him playing guitar, keys, drums, and bass. There's a couple of special moments during the video. Thundercat grabs his bass and takes the stage with Mac for the song he's featured on, "What's The Use." There's also a few string musicians that come in and kill it on the song "2009," a track that features powerful and complex parts that the string players had just learned shortly before the performance.

Overall, the entire display was awesome and heartwarming. Each track played out perfectly and really proved that Mac could put on a hell of a live show. We hope to see more performances like this from Mac Miller in the future.

Watch Tom Misch’s Stunning Live Performance On NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert Series

Tom Misch

Just last week Tom Misch showed us just exactly how skilled he was as a producer, taking on Mass Appeal’s Rhythm Roulette challenge and creating three incredible off-the-top beats using samples pulled from random records. Today, we get to see Tom put away his laptop and pick up his guitar alongside a handful of talented musicians to perform for NPR’s acclaimed Tiny Desk Concert series.

Tom Misch’s improvisational skills shine brilliantly here, creating one-of-a-kind live renditions of three different songs of his, “It Runs Through Me,” “I Wish,” and “Movie.” Thanks to his accompanying band, we get to hear these phenomenal tracks with brand new parts that include piano, violin, and saxophone. If you were a fan of his music before, you’ll need to watch this so you can see him and his friends take it to the next level.

Every now and then we come across an artist who simply can do it all, and Tom Misch is one of those artists. He’s someone you can’t wait tell your friends about, which is why we’re so glad to be sharing this video. Enjoy!

Watch Amine's Impressive Tiny Desk Concert With Full Band

Amine Tiny Desk Concert

There’s nothing like a Tiny Desk Concert to put an artist’s raw talent on full display. NPR’s intimate live rendition series has brought on Amine for their latest edition of their incredible series.

We’ve seen Tiny Desk bring on more hip-hop artists over the past year with appearances from Chance The Rapper, Run The Jewels, D.R.A.M., Anderson .Paak and more as they continue to put out incredible content. For his performance, Amine plays out “Spice Girls / Caroline,” “Slide” and “Wedding Crashers.” It’s always refreshing to see rappers perform their songs with a full band and here they sound amazing. Enjoy!
