Kendrick Lamar & TDE Are Curating And Producing The Soundtrack Album For Marvel's "Black Panther" Movie

Kendrick Lamar Black Panther Album Soundtrack

Kendrick Lamar can do it all. For his latest endeavor, he’s going to be curating and producing the soundtrack for Marvel’s upcoming Black Panther film alongside his Top Dawg Entertainment label head Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith. For the first track off the soundtrack, Kendrick has linked up with fellow TDE member SZA on “All The Stars,” which is below.

“Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is amazing, from its cast to its director. The magnitude of this film showcases a great marriage of art and culture. I’m truly honored to contribute my knowledge of producing sound and writing music alongside Ryan and Marvel’s vision.” - Kendrick Lamar

There’s yet to be more information about the album’s tracklist but if Kdot and TDE are behind it, we know we’re in for a treat. Stay tuned for more off the project duo Feb. 9 ahead of the movie’s premiere date of Feb 16. A Google preorder for the album show's it has 14 tracks. This marks the first time Marvel will have original music specifically for their films, and they sure are doing it right getting Kdot on board. Enjoy!

Kendrick Lamar's Producer Has His Stolen Hard Drive Filled With Unreleased Music Returned

Kendrick Lamar Hard Drive

Top Dawg Entertainment was in for a scare recently. Their in house engineer and frequent Kendrick Lamar producer Derek “MixedByAli” Ali had his hard drive stolen from his car, which was filled with unreleased music.

Luckily, the hard drive was recovered by Hawthorne police and has been returned to its rightful owner. It’s unclear what unreleased music is contained on the hard drive, but considering Ali has his hands in all TDE projects like Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, SZA, Isaiah Rashad and more, it’s safe to say there was some fire on there. At least $1 million worth of fire according to police, although we have no idea how they came up with that valuation. At least the police did something right this year... Enjoy!

Apart of the TDE family alongside Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul just leaked a vicious, near 3 minute, freestyle without any approval from the label, stating "I might get dropped from the label for this 1, but fuck it..."

The appropriately titled "47 Bars" features a smooth production, thanks to Hip-Hop legend The Alchemist, that paves the way for Ab-Soul to come in and perfectly lay non stop bars. From puns about Spiderman to dogging on guys wearing capes, Ab-Soul manages to leave no one untouched. Listen to the freestyle below and enjoy!
