Tourist Shares Alluring Laidback Remix Of Rostam’s “Gwan”

tourist gwan remix

We love getting our daily dose of chill tunes, and when it comes to relaxing, downtempo, electronic music, Tourist is one of our favorites. It’s hard to believe it, but it’s been over half of a year since we heard any new music from the London-based artist. That changes today, however, as he has just released a brand new remix of Rostam’s track, “Gwan.”

Tourist definitely focuses on quality over quantity. Although he may only have couple of releases per year, nearly everything he puts out is worth listening to. Most of his work is original, but the way he put a perfect electronic spin to onto Rostam’s beautiful indie track is seriously impressive. Tourist chops up Rostam’s vocals, and adds some ghost-like effects with some gorgeous sounds and melodies. Listen to the brand new, laidback tune below and hear for yourself. Enjoy!

Tourist Delivers Must Hear Chill 4-Track EP 'Wash' : Indie Electronic

Tourist wash EP

Tourist is an artist we just can’t get enough of. Each and every release we’ve heard from the London-based producer is effortlessly laid back in the best way possible. Today he’s shared his anticipated 4-track EP Wash as he shows no signs of slowing down.

Just last year he shared his debut album U that was one of our top 5 favorite electronic albums of 2016 and we’ve been patiently awaiting his follow-up. He returned in a big way this summer with the infectious single “We Stayed Up All Night” that we’ve been playing nonstop and has literally been stuck in my head for weeks at a time. Now he’s shared the full EP that includes the hit single, and the full 4 tracks are on the level quality level as we’ve come to expect from this favorite of ours. He has a way of chopping up samples and vocals to make them sound like a fluid instrument that he displays perfectly on the outro “Hush.” Throughout the EP, Tourist captures emotions through mystical soundscapes and layers of soulful instrumentation that he gives a dance-friendly, house edge to. Enjoy!

Tourist Returns With Chill New Single "We Stayed Up All Night" feat. Ardyn

Tourist We Stayed Up All Night

Last year, London-based producer Tourist released his debut album U, which placed fifth on our list of Top 20 Electronic Albums of 2016. Now today, he has made his awaited return with the first release since the album “We Stayed Up All Night”. The single is dangerously catchy and receives vocal accompaniment from UK collaborator, Ardyn. William Phillips, aka Tourist, played this track at Coachella and now it is finally being unleashed just in time for summer.

“With this new music I wanted to make something that was more reflective of who I am now and how my life has changed over the past year. I moved out of my windowless studio and started writing from home again. I think subconsciously I've started writing more joyous, colourful music and I've loved being more collaborative once again. These tracks are my favourite music I've produced so far, Tourist will always change with each release and I've loved pushing the sound into a new place.” – William Phillips

“We Stayed Up All Night” is bright and mellow. Tourist captures the vocals from Ardyn and compliments them with uplifting synths and laid-back percussion. “We Stayed Up All Night” is an incredible resurgence from Tourist and we cannot wait to hear what else he has been working on… Enjoy!
