Tycho Reworks Maggie Roger's Single "Alaska" For Hypnotic New Remix

Tycho Maggie Rogers

Tycho has been all over the place lately. Earlier this month, Tycho released a vocal version of “See” making it the first Tycho track with featured vocals. In late April, Tycho amazed crowds on both weekends of Coachella at both The Outdoor Theatre stage and the DoLab tent. Today, Tycho has released a stunning remix of Maggie Roger’s breakout single “Alaska”.

Singer, songwriter and producer, Maggie Roger’s, has become a favorite of ours with her incredibly unique indie-electronic sound; A sound so captivating that it once brought Pharrell Williams to tears.

Tycho has taken Maggie Roger’s charming voice and surrounded it with whimsical plucks, irregular percussion and epic synths in typical Tycho fashion. Enjoy!

Tycho Shares New Vocal Version Of "See" Ft. Beacon

Tycho See

Tycho has surprised everyone with their new release “See” which features vocal accompaniment from Thomas Mullarney III from the Brooklyn duo Beacon. The track originated as an instrumental output on Tycho’s 2014 album Awake. Beacon then remixed the track adding a vocal element that gained the attention of Tycho. Fast forward to Coachella 2017 where Thomas Mullarney III joined Tycho on stage to perform “See” making it the first time Tycho has ever hosted a vocalist on stage. Now finally, the alternate version of “See” has received a proper studio recording making it the first official Tycho release with a vocal melody.

The track is in typical Tycho fashion harnessing whimsical melodies and scattered percussion. Thomas’ voice compliments their sound extremely well to create an atmospheric song that is eye-opening for all fans of Tycho. This version of “See” is a side of Tycho that we’ve never experienced before… A side that is intriguing and has us excited for more. Enjoy!

Tycho Shares Extra Chill Hourlong DoLab Coachella Set

Tycho Desert

Tycho has gifted us with a full recording of their DJ set for the first weekend of Coachella. Tycho is considered a pioneer of the chillwave genre as the project has been active dating to the early 2000’s and even grabbed a Grammy nomination this past year. The group's live presence involves two types of shows that has a four-piece band to be considered their primary form. However, Tycho can also throw together a pretty wicked DJ Set which is justified with the recording of their set that took place at the DoLab stage on Saturday of weekend one.

The mix is so dreamy and seamless that when it comes to an end you don’t even realize a full hour has passed. The tracklist contains cuts from Tycho’s massive repertoire as well as others from artists such as Bonobo, Caribou and Kidnap Kid. Tycho has been featured on TSIS many times as we declared their album Epoch as one of the Top 20 Electronic Albums Of 2016 and promoted their 2016 Burning Man Set last September and they're back again with this smooth set. Enjoy!
