PREMIERE | UZ Links Up With Rising Producer Montell2099 On Filthy New Trap Track “UNDERGRND”

uz montell

UZ is one of the few producers that pioneered the genre of trap that has stayed true to his style since. It’s been over 6 years since trap explosively emerged, and UZ has held fast against the wave of new school producers, trying to push the genre to its limits. His sound design has always been very skeletal. There are usually only a few elements working together at one time.

Today he pairs up with a very forward thinking, creative producer, Montell2099, who has a very similar minimalistic approach to creating music. Already, on paper, the duo seems like they would vibe together well, and their new track “UNDERGRND” confirms that. UZ and Montell go together so well, in fact, that they have also announced an UNDRGRND Tour, which is set to resume September 7. For more info on the tour, follow this link here.

To stream the new track, which featured tumblings synth stabs, stuttering vocal interjections, and thundering 808s, check below. It's out via UZ's own label, Quality Goods Records. Enjoy

PREMIERE | UZ Switches Things Up With Extra Chill New Song "Castle" (Ft. Nevve) Off Album

uz rebirth album

Not long ago, the mysterious bass producer UZ dropped his debut album Layers. Tomorrow, May 11th, we will receive UZ’s anticipated follow-up LP titled The Rebirth. However, here at TSIS we are lucky enough to premiere one of the cuts to be featured on the album a day early. The track is titled “Castle” and features a vocal accompaniment from rising artist Nevve, who has recently been featured for her many collaborations. UZ established himself as a TSIS favorite early on, with his first feature dating back to mid 2012 and shows no signs of slowing down.

When one thinks of UZ, intense, experimental trap music comes to mind. “Castle”, however, is quite the opposite. It is an easy-listening electronic song that exhibits UZ’s versatility highlighting Nevve's vocals. And while it is far different from his typical releases, UZ still manages to leave his identifiable imprint on the track with powerful percussion and resonating synths. Keep an eye out for UZ’s album drop tomorrow that will come paired with a US tour announcement, but in the meantime, “Castle” should keep you occupied. Enjoy!

The masked bandit known internationally as ƱZ (UZ) has given listeners numerous reasons to go ape shit due to the beat-maker exploding on to the electronic music community with his hyped out trap and bass releases. His "Trap Shit" originals continuously show the evolution of the mysterious producers sound design and composition, while his remixes provide us with the needed trapped out cut for new playability. UZ took on the task of remixing Mad Decent newcomer Elliphant breakout single "Revolusion" and turned it into a certified trap heater as he layers in the proper amount of snare snaps, kickdrums effects and quick wonky bass blasts while still capturing the vocals in the tracks build up. Pump those arms up and down to the beat and grab this release for free download now! Enjoy
