Ember Island Shares Soulful Cover Of Rihanna’s “Umbrella” + Music Video

Ember Riri

Swedish group Ember Island has created a formidable presence with their covers of songs throughout genres, from Jack Ü’s “Where Are Ü Now” (remixed by Flaxo) to Radiohead’s “Creep.” With effortless vocal chops and gentle, clean production, the trio has cultivated a spiritual sound that’s nearly impossible to emulate. Today the group has gifted us with yet another impressive cover, this time their smooth take on Rihanna’s 2007 hit “Umbrella.”

With this cover Ember Island has turned a conventional pop track on its head, giving it an infectious, tender new sound. The track has a delicate production that utilizes subtle percussion, guitar riffs and atmospheric synth builds. This coupled with the moving vocals creates a heavenly overall vibe. The music video for the track drives this feel home with a muted color scheme and scenes of each band member performing. Check out the song and video below. Enjoy!

GoldLink Covers Outkast's "Roses" In Impressive Live Video [Watch]

GoldLink OutKast Cover

GoldLink, who is behind recent collaborations such as “Boo You Know” with Falcons and “Let’s Go” with Khalid, has covered Outkast’s legendary song “Roses” on BBC Radio 1 and it is everything one could hope for. A frequent TSIS favorite, GoldLink released his debut album titled At What Cost this past march and since has become one of the hottest growing hip-hop artists in the game. He is an incredibly versatile artist, able to modify his voice to fit the theme of any song as he exhibits in this cover.

The cover definitely does the original justice, keeping the integrity but making the GoldLink touch inevitable. He sings the song incredibly well, showing to viewers that he is more than just a rapper, but rather a skilled vocalist and artist. The cover is, for the most part, the same as the original. However, receives an original verse from Hare Squead, who have worked with GoldLink in the past on tracks such as “Herside Story”. Enjoy!

Watch Gorillaz’s Exciting 2-Hour ‘Demon Dayz’ Festival Performance In Full

There’s no dispute that 2017 has been the year of the Gorillaz. After a long hiatus the group burst back onto the scene this year with the release of their Humanz album, spearheading one of the biggest album rollouts we’ve ever seen and announcing their inaugural Demon Dayz festival in England, which took place on June 10.

Over a month later Red Bull Music & Culture has finally uploaded Gorillaz’s exciting 2-hour performance from the festival, and it’s everything we hoped it’d be and more. Between the visuals, guest artists, the sunset in the background, the crowd singing along to every word and, of course, the music, everything about the set was incredible. The group played a diverse mix of both Humanz tracks and older songs, starting with “Ascension” and keeping the energy high from there on out. Be sure to check out the set ASAP – it’s only available for a 2-week exclusive. Enjoy!
