Bassnectar Announces Massive New Years Eve 2017 Show In Atlanta

Bassnectar new years eve 2017

When it comes to hosting forward-thinking, large-scale events, Bassnectar is always one of the first artists that comes to mind. This year has been no different, with the experimental producer already hosting the two-day, ‘90s style Basslantic City festival in Atlanic City, the three-night “Freestyle Sessions” event in Colorado and the massive Bass Center X Festival in Virginia.

These gatherings coupled with a steady stream of new music has had the Basshead community buzzing with anticipation of where his New Years Eve show would be held. For the past two years Bassnectar has hosted his 360-degree event in Birmingham, Alabama, but has hinted throughout 2017 that the event would find a new landing pad this year.

Today he finally revealed the answer: This year’s NYE will go further south to Atlanta, Georgia. Although it will not be a 360-degree show, it’s sure to be just as unique.

“Our intention is to design a magical portal into an Alternate Universe… when you cross the Threshold we intend to explore new undiscovered dimensions using a time machine built out of human energy… sound unrealistic? We don’t think it’s unrealistic – we think it is inevitable (: “ – Bassnectar

In addition to Lorin himself, producers What So Not, Ott, and Phutureprimitive will be joining as supporting talent. The show will take place on December 31 at the GWCC (the same place Bassnectar hosted his two-day Basslanta event back in 2016). Presale tickets go on sale tomorrow at noon ET, with general on sale this Friday also at noon. Find those here. In the meantime, check out the intricate lineup art below - enjoy!

What So Not Drops Powerful Single “Better” With LPX

What So Not Better

Over the past few years, Emoh Instead of What So Not has consistently proven himself a force to be reckoned with as the sole member of the music project. The experimental young artist kept this momentum with his debut Divide & Conquer EP last September, constantly turning heads with a bold sound that can’t be placed into any box. He’s done nothing but continue this momentum during 2017, releasing a stellar remix package (from which we had the pleasure to premiere Noisia’s take of “Divide & Conquer”) and, more recently, dropping a remix of Era Istrefi’s “Redrum.”

Today What So Not is back with another impressive single, “Better” with vocalist LPX. This track is a quintessential What So Not piece, featuring a colossal build of energy and vigorous synths that we’ve come to know and love from the producer. The vivid production and pulsing percussive elements flow smoothly with LPX’s energetic vocals, making for a lively track that will leap through any speakers. See tour dates below and enjoy!

What So Not Delivers Incredible Remix Of Era Istrefi's Single "Redrum"

What So Not Era Istrefi

Australian powerhouse, What So Not, has delivered an exciting remix of Era Istrefi’s popular single “Redrum”. The original adaption of the track was released by the Albanian-Kosovar singer/songwriter in February and featured assistance from acclaimed producer Felix Snow. What So Not’s version of “Redrum” was first performed in tandem at Coachella and is now getting its acknowledgment as an official remix.

“It was a fun challenge working on a project where the focus was the vocal & the ‘song’ rather than the production & keeping everything really simple.” What So Not

The track begins with cultured guitar plucks and Istrefi’s infectious voice. Complimented by powerful percussion and dynamic synths, “Redrum” begins to escalate. The drop is compelling with deliberate bass and robust synths, which What So Not shares, “actually came together by sampling my friend on an iPhone singing ‘nah nah-nah nah nah’”… proving how creative and versatile he truly is.

What So Not also states, “This is the first of many many records that i’m about to put out”, which is always great news. Enjoy!
