ZHU Teases Upcoming Nero Collaboration “Dreamz” With Cryptic Video

ZHU Nero Dreamz

ZHU has been increasingly active these past few months, first hinting at new music in March. Since then, he has gone on to release three new tracks: “Nightcrawler,” “Intoxicate,” and his remix of Gorillaz's recent track “Andromeda.” Last month, ZHU released the music video for “Intoxicate,” which gave off nightmarish vibes with a woman running around a warehouse filled with mannequins. Today ZHU has shared a teaser video for his upcoming collaboration with Nero titled “Dreamz.”

The trailer for “Dreamz” maintains the same dark vibe as the video for “Intoxicate,” with mannequin-like bodies strewn about the ground. The bodies appear to come to life and move to the beat of this upcoming collaboration. The sample we get of “Dreamz” begins with an ominous choir and robotic samples. The samples continue throughout the heavy kick, snare, and bassline as heavenly vocals echo overhead.

From what we gather from the video, “Dreamz” is shaping up to be a huge collaboration between ZHU and Nero. Both artists’ production styles shine and blend together seamlessly on this track. ZHU is gearing up for his sold-out show called The Blacklizt at a secret warehouse in New York this weekend. Check out the teaser for “Dreamz” below and enjoy!

ZHU Shares Nightmarish Music Video For His Latest Single "Intoxicate"

ZHU Intoxicate Video

A few months ago, ZHU dropped the infectious single "Nightcrawler" before announcing a secret “Blacklizt” warehouse show to take place somewhere in New York at the end of June. Exactly one week ago he shared yet another incredible song titled, "Intoxicate", which today has received an official video from mysterious artist.

For the video, ZHU teamed up with Miles Joris-Peyrafitte, the youngest director in history to ever have a film debuted at Sundance Film Festival. The cinematic music video seems to call into question the ideal human figure. In it a woman walks through a black and white nightmarish scene filled with stiff silhouettes and hyperrealistic mannequins being hacked apart and set on fire.

ZHU Drops Incredible New Song "Intoxicate"

Zhu Intoxicate Artwork

Just under two months ago ZHU made a bold statement after uploading a video that ended in the figurative deaths of some mainstream electronic artists such as The Chainsmokers, Marshmello and more. We were right in guessing that the video was teasing new music; the producer dropped his dark single “Nightcrawler” just a couple of days later.

Following these mysterious music rollouts, ZHU announced a warehouse show in New York called The Blacklizt, taking place at a secret location on June 24 and 25. Today the artist continues to reveal a darker, more underground side to himself with the release of his single “Intoxicate,” a wonderfully sinister house track.

An eerie, almost other worldly type of beat draws you in from the start of “Intoxicate.” From there, element after element of sound layers itself into the track, including a heavily edited vocal sample, pounding bassline and even some subtle guitar riffs. ZHU’s smooth vocals once again make an appearance, adding an alluring, sultry element to an otherwise dark track. An intense synth build towards the end ties this track together in an enticing way. Overall, “Intoxicate” does an excellent job at bringing sensual and ominous touches together into one powerful piece of music.

The release of this track accompanies another exciting announcement from ZHU - general on-sale for The Blacklizt event starts Friday May 4, with tickets available here. Listen to “Intoxicate” below and enjoy!
