There’s nothing quite like going down a deep nostalgia rabbit hole and breathing new life into classic tunes that forged our current music tastes. In 2015, EDM was enjoying mainstream success unlike ever before with massive representation at some of the world’s biggest festivals. This year marked a shift in the general sound as artists began to bring other genres into their productions.

Kygo single handedly launched the success of tropical house while electro house still remained relevant for many producers. DJ Snake, Flosstradamus, and Dillon Francis reinvented mainstream trap. Skrillex & Diplo dipped their toes into the radio circuit. Australia began to show up big with artists like Flume, Alison Wonderland, RÜFÜS DU SOL, and What So Not paving a new path for future bass producers.
