Rising Atlanta Artist 6LACK Delivers Impressive Debut Album ‘FREE 6LACK’ : Hip-Hop / R&B

||

Atlanta-based singer and rapper 6LACK (pronounced "Black") has dropped his impressive debut album FREE 6LACK. The talented artist bursted onto the scene earlier this year with a string of singles and now delivers a top-tier body of work.

The LP's release was originally slated to come Nov. 25, the same day as The Weeknd's Starboy album. Earlier this week, 6LACK dropped "Just in time 4 the weekend" as a remix of The Weeknd's "Wicked Games" and decided to move the release up. He recently was freed from what he called a bad record deal that lasted 4 or 5 years. In a way, this album is a celebration of his release.

While FREE 6LACK's 11 tracks don't bring any features to the table, there isn't a single skippable song on the project. The 24-year-old says he's been making music since he was four years old. This fact is apparent on his debut as 6LACK shows impressive songwriting sensibilities over catchy vocal melodies and memorable lyrics. His unique, slightly coarse voice carries his hip-hop leaning R&B vocals over the dark, trap-inspired productions.

If the success of similar artists like Bryson Tiller and The Weeknd are of any indication, we see big things down the road for 6LACK. Stream the entire album below and enjoy!
