Rising Indie Musician Aaron Childs Drops Ultra Smooth, 70s Inspired EP ‘No Rewrites’

|||

At TSIS, we pride ourselves on finding the best up-and-coming artists and Aaron Childs is one of our most exciting finds yet. His fresh take on soul music and mastery of smooth guitar are on full display on his new EP No Rewrites.

Jazz music is in Childs’ veins and at the heart of his music. Not only is he the son of Grammy award winning jazz artist Billy Childs, but the very DNA of this EP is also infused with 70s soul influences.  From the Marvin Gaye stylings of the guitar on “U Got Time,” to the ode to Earth, Wind & Fire on “Sunshine,” No Rewrites takes influence from classic funky jazz music while also breathing new life into it. Childs does this by balancing the retro guitar licks with subtle electronic synth textures.

Throughout this EP, Childs solidifies his signature sound of creamy guitar and modern vocal flows over a backdrop of rich bass guitar and a soft jazz beat. Through it all is an effervescent sense of optimism from Childs’ sunny voice and upbeat lyrics. It makes for the ultimate easy-listening experience.

We highly recommend giving No Rewrites a listen. Enjoy!
